Most Recently Overrated Movies...

I was just thinking the other day that there are a lot of movies lately that have been getting good reviews and lots of hype, but have turned out to be complete crap. I was just curious to see some movies that you would add.

Here are a couple of mine...

The Good Shepherd
The Assassination of Jesse James

i loved the jesse james movie, but i thought THERE WILL BE BLOOD was way overrated.

And I loved both Jesse James and There Will Be Blood. However I thought The Good Shepherd was just OK.

I happened to really like all three of the movies mentioned.

It's just a matter of opinion. I wasn't expecting everyone to agree with me...just wondering if anyone else had any movies they thought were overhyped.

I had to pare down my list because I’m a little behind on watching the “recently” released but if we’re going back a little further I could go on and on.

Across the Universe - nothing new here we hadn’t already seen or heard in/on better formats

The Holiday – it wasn’t horrible but it was just like every other chick flick I can’t believe I got suckered into watching

Thank you! You are the first person I've met who agrees. Underneath the music it was just another love story too and I felt a little dirty after watching it.

I liked Across the Universe, but wasn't impressed. I can't quite figure out why so many people LOVED it.

That’s exactly it, it wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t great either. The people that loved it need to take a trip to Vegas and see Love then watch the movie again and see what they think of its originality.
