name that scifi classic
okay this isn't for me but for a friend on another board:
While the Sci-Fi crowd is assembled, I have searched for a movie for YEARS without knowing the title! There is a B&W '50's movie about an alien that comes to Earth and has a "ray gun" that disinegrates things to the bare bones when shot with it. I saw it as a little kid and as I recall the ending finds the "spaceman" using a power line to charge his gun to disinegrate a monster that followed him to Earth? Anyone?
