spider - first reaction was disappointment. in no way did this movie develop into what i had expected. however, when i get over myself and realize that this is not a bad thing, i admit that the story was an interesting trip and the characters were developed wonderfully.
the lost - first reaction was much worse than 'disappointment'. i think i need to distance myself from my extreme dislike for the narcissist that is the main character. i want to hate this movie...but i know that there are parts of it that are memorable, and not in a bad way. hmmm...my ratings are fluid and subject to change...
BitPart - Cashback is one of my favorites! It was originally produced has a short in 2004. It was then expanded to the full lenght version in 2006. Both are on the DVD but I see the full version is now on Instant Watch. It is a hilarious comedy about love from a guy's point of view. This guy is a young art student with a wild immagination so this movie is Rated R For graphic nudity, sexual content and language. Some may be uncomfortable by the nudity but it's done beautifully.
We finally finished Dexter Season 1. The last episode was so good it was almost (almost) okay that it was the only one on the disc. 5 Stars
I watched Premonition. Overall it was pretty predictable and the thrilling part of this thriller never came. I liked the way they pieced it together , jumping around from day to day but what happened to the Sandra Bullock I liked way back in Demolition Man, the one that could’ve handled this role very well? I think she’s done too many romantic comedies for me to buy her in any serious roles. 2 stars
Saving the best for last, I finally got my hands on a copy of Blood Simple. It. Blew. Me. Away. I can’t say enough good things about this film. There were some minor holes but they’re easy to overlook because absolutely everything else is done so well. Great way to reintroduce myself to the Coens (thank you e. manderthal). 5 stars
Back from the other side of the water......spending a bit of time reading all the posts. v 10.0 has been an especially interesting / good iteration of the thread---great job guys. On that note, as soon as it works its way off the board, I'll start v. 11.0...
