OPINIONS ON THE BEST TV SERIES OUT THERE!

Hello all. I've just finished watching disc 4 from series 4 of "The 4400". It's time for me to "absorb" another series. I would like some recommendations on some TRULY GREAT series, not average or low entertainment ones. I realize that this is completely subjective and some will give suggestions of what they consider to be great series, and I might not be interested in them. But if everyone recommends what they consider to be "the best", then law of average will dictate that the majority of the suggestions will at least be considered to be better than average by the general consensus.To give you an idea of what I've personally seen and consider to be the best (I've already seen) they are: The 4400, Heroes, Nip/Tuck, Dexter, Ugly Betty, The Office, The L Word. Please keep these in mind when you make your suggestions as any series that are similar in nature will at least get my attention. I think that others will also benefit from reading this list, so please post any and all of what you consider to be the best out there!!

We agree -- Big Love and Mad Men. It's coming on again at the end of July.

The Shield is great, last season about to air. Rescue Me, The Closer are also very good. You like 4400, go old school revisit X-Files.

The DEEPLY mourned "Deadwood." Genius, poetry, filth, honesty, hilarity, brutality, unforgettable characters, authenticity, and heart.

yeah HBO makes me so furious !! they put these wonderful shows out ( and they are popular ) but cancel them when they say too expensive. Like Deadwood and Carnivale .. and i'm not sure if they forced The Wire to stop or if it was the writers but that could have kept going too.
