OPINIONS ON THE BEST TV SERIES OUT THERE!

Hello all. I've just finished watching disc 4 from series 4 of "The 4400". It's time for me to "absorb" another series. I would like some recommendations on some TRULY GREAT series, not average or low entertainment ones. I realize that this is completely subjective and some will give suggestions of what they consider to be great series, and I might not be interested in them. But if everyone recommends what they consider to be "the best", then law of average will dictate that the majority of the suggestions will at least be considered to be better than average by the general consensus.To give you an idea of what I've personally seen and consider to be the best (I've already seen) they are: The 4400, Heroes, Nip/Tuck, Dexter, Ugly Betty, The Office, The L Word. Please keep these in mind when you make your suggestions as any series that are similar in nature will at least get my attention. I think that others will also benefit from reading this list, so please post any and all of what you consider to be the best out there!!

much of the great TV today is coming from the cable channels (IE HBO etc) but regarding network TV I think one of the best shows in the last 10 years (and I didn't watch it new) is The West Wing. I didn't even bother with this show until a few years ago, but wow it is excellent.

My current favorite showing on TV now is Weeds. Kevin Nealon is absolutely hilarious in this show! Dexter is also right up there for me. Love it, can't wait for the new season to start!

I'm glad someone finally mentioned Weeds! That show has everything and keeps you on the edge of your seat. That's my favorite show hands down.

SG-1 Atlantis version is pretty good but the original series is the best I think
Pushing Daisies Quirky off beat and completely unexpected from network TV, snagged me from the start, love that it has a narrator (not on NF just yet but DVD series appears to be out for Season 1).
Reaper This show has really grown on me. It actually has become a rather nice little favorite (not on DVD just yet it seems).
Breaking Bad Someone mentioned this earlier and honestly it is eerie how different Malcolm in the Middle Dad is in this role. I had my doubts picturing him in anything serious, I have only seen the first episode and he is fully convincing in this role.
Bones I like crime shows, this would be my one that isn't quite the same as the others. I can binge on Law & Order, CSI etc, this one is different though. Not always dark and serious.
