Hello all. I've just finished watching disc 4 from series 4 of "The 4400". It's time for me to "absorb" another series. I would like some recommendations on some TRULY GREAT series, not average or low entertainment ones. I realize that this is completely subjective and some will give suggestions of what they consider to be great series, and I might not be interested in them. But if everyone recommends what they consider to be "the best", then law of average will dictate that the majority of the suggestions will at least be considered to be better than average by the general consensus. To give you an idea of what I've personally seen and consider to be the best (I've already seen) they are: The 4400, Heroes, Nip/Tuck, Dexter, Ugly Betty, The Office, The L Word. Please keep these in mind when you make your suggestions as any series that are similar in nature will at least get my attention. I think that others will also benefit from reading this list, so please post any and all of what you consider to be the best out there!!

I loved all of "The West Wing", but I have to say that the episodes before Sorkin and Rob Lowe left were the best (the first three seasons). My husband got me hooked on Heroes, and it rocks. It is available on instant, which is cool. I enjoy Numb3rs, but it might be because I'm a math geek...

I absolutely loved "Las Vegas", but those execs' @ NBC needs a serious beat down for pulling the show so pre-maturely that not even a proper series finale was given to it. I also didn't like the re-casting of the show with Tom Sellick, that guy wasn't fitting to replace James Caan.

Just my $0.02

Netflix released the original Get Smart TV series on 4 discs. One of the classic TV comedies, starring Don Adams and Barbara Feldon. Created by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry.
Disc 1 is in high demand, so it might easier to add them in your queue in reverse order if you want to see one right away.
I also like The Fugitive, The Mod Squad and Unsolved Mysteries.

If you like older shows, I just found and fell in love with Quantum Leap. I can watch that show over and over. It really restores faith in humanity and a higher power.

Californication is the greatest show on the air, summer heights high is close, then Arrested Development being the best show resting in peace.

For me it's a toss up between AD and Firefly.
