A Netflix Community

I used to have no trouble watching all kinds of stuff.

Recently I have run into a major problem. Before I start my Instant watching my download speed is 6.55 Mbps as soon as I start watching a movie my download speed "strangely" starts to slow down. Within a minute it's 5.87, a few seconds later it is 2.47 Mbps.

I can start the process any time day or night and the download speed always slows down.

I have not called Insight Communications yet. They now have a "super" fast broadband for "only" $10 more per month.

Has anyone else had the same problem and do you know of a solution?

Thanks

Yes! Tonight was the first time I tried to watch an instant movie, and it stopped twice, once for 30mins, another for 18mins, because my "internet connection slowed down" and it needed to adjust something...I'm at 54.0 MBPS speed on cable connection so I don't get it...

I watched 3 episodes of Heroes tonight with no glitches or freezes

Try calling the Instant Watch tech support @ 1-866-402-2616 10am to 2am ET.

I've watched 2 movies today and they worked fine for me.

Some ISPs limit bandwidth after a certain point. It's generally written into your contract under the term "Fair use Policy"

I too, have been having this issue, i have uverse with 10mbps down and 1.5 up. it seems to be following the more recent IW releases. As mentioned below some worthless isps limit the bandwidth, but usually 500gb range. Netflix needs to add more servers and a bigger pipe, to keep up with demand. Extremely frustrating, especially when the silly messages tells me my Inet connection has slowed. speedtest.net shows me with full bandwidth.
