A Netflix Community

If you have problems or concerns about Netflix, I'll be happy to help. You can approach me without fear of being humiliated or assaulted with 4-letter expletives. I've had 4 years of experience of dealing with Netflix's problems. I'm also familiar with other on-line DVD delivery services to offer comparisons.

Manuel, this could be constructive if you run this right. How about starting a group here so that when someone has an issue you can direct them to your group and the answers.... this will save you having to repeat yourself over and over and give people a place to look for a start.

And that's fine if you do indeed offer straight answers. But experience tells us that you prefer to offer answers tainted with your negative bias towards Netflix. There is nothing wrong with addressing Netflix's shortcomings, we all know they have them. But offering workarounds, reasons, and explanations are far more healthy and productive in a user community forum than inciting rage that just fills the forum with the same topics posted over and over again. I agree with UpcomingCinema that a group might be the best means of offering your support.

Well I just found out that the movies Nancy Drew and Snow Buddies are listed on my que as long wait but on my next door neighbors que Nancy Drew is listed as a short wait and Snow Buddies is available now, why is that when we have the same rental plan I thought we were on equal terms. I guess they can discriminate who they serve and who has to take a back seat..

When you have time read Netflix's Terms of Use: How Our Service Works.

Don't you think it would be more useful to provide a How Our Service Works
link

I have just read "Netflix's Terms of Use: How Our Service Works" and can't find an answer to ken's question.

Then you didn't read it thoroughly enough.

We reserve the right in our sole and absolute discretion to make changes from time to time and without notice in how we operate our service.

Under Allocation, Delivery and Return of Rented DVDs:

We reserve the right to process orders and otherwise allocate and ship DVDs among our members in any manner that we, in our sole and absolute discretion, determine.

In determining priority for shipping and inventory allocation, we may utilize many different factors, including the number and type of DVDs you rent through our service, the membership plan you select, as well as other uses of our service by you. For example, if all other factors are the same, we give priority to those members who receive the fewest DVDs through our service.

Also, such service may be different from the service we provide to other members on the same membership plan.

Yes! Please start a group and not tons of threads and allow people to come to you instead of nine million useless threads!

Ken joined the community 16 hours ago, and started his first complaint thread, "renting irregularities." 16 hours ago.

This is the exact pattern matched by an awful lot of new members who have been appearing here regularly since the first appearance of Manuel.

I don't know if Manuel is recruiting these malcontents via his website, creating them from thin air, or has been cultivating them in the course of his 4-year campaign, but I'm convinced they wouldn't be here if Manny hadn't found the site first.

It makes sense that Manny would develop a network of malcontents after all the posting he's done and the publicity he's gathered. But this "undercover" bs is transparent and childish,

You can approach me without fear of being humiliated or assaulted with 4-letter expletives

Here's a 4-letter expletive for you: Liar!
Show me where anyone criticizing Netflix has been assaulted in the manner described.

What, you don't think people can be dissatisfied with Netflix unless they are recruited?

Netflix screws people over plain as day. You can bitch about it all you want, or you can start giving them less money and sitting on your already watched movies for a couple of days so they don't get mad that you are trying to get your moneys worth. If you are on a three at a time plan, then you better only return three a week. You can't beat them, and they apparently have some of their employees on this forum as well. That could be the only explanation for people defending Netflix's policy of screwing you without lube.

Aran,
I've carefully read all of your complaints and critizim of Netflix. In all honesty the hostility you show towards Netflix, it's employees and it's fans (which includes me) is rather disheartening. If you really are that dissatisfied with the service please discontinue your account and remove yourself from the source of all of your frustration, which includes this forum.

Acceptance is a wonderful thing, and if you just accept that you're unhappy and move on your life could be much better.

I have accepted this fact. I cut my plan in half, and I sit on my movies like they want me to do in order to get New Releases. I don't have to like that fact however I have pretty much quit bitching about it because it's pointless. We agree to disagree, but I do agree I needed to switch the way I use Netflix which I have. Hopefully that will solve my problem, only time will tell.
