If you have problems or concerns about Netflix, I'll be happy to help. You can approach me without fear of being humiliated or assaulted with 4-letter expletives. I've had 4 years of experience of dealing with Netflix's problems. I'm also familiar with other on-line DVD delivery services to offer comparisons.
Since I've been a member here, maybe a month or 2, I have been amazed at how many people seem to be so mad at Netflix. I can only comment from my past experience, I joined Netflix in 2002 and have probably been a very un-profitable customer. I have an 8 out plan and return them very fast, and yet I never seem to have any issues getting most things I want. Maybe it is because there are very few new releases that my life would suck without, but I place them in the queue, and when I get them, then I get them. I keep hearing about this great conspiracy against heavy users, and I have never seen any trace of it. A great example is today they shipped Cloverfield, it may have been in my queue for a week tops. I am not down playing the service others may be getting, but as a very heavy user, this conspiracy just doesn't play out.
I'm a Netflix employee. Any Netflix employees are marked as such if you click on their profile. Most people love using Netflix, so it is pretty easy to defend something you enjoy. That is all I have to say.
I think it all boils down to what everyone has said here a million times: Perhaps Netflix is not the service for you! I don't believe it was ever intended to be for people who only want new releases and want them the day they come out. For people like that, BB might be a better choice since you can go to the store and pick up the new releases (although I believe you are limited to how many you can get in a certain time frame).
Netflix fills a void left by brick and mortar stores for people who want stuff that is not profitable (or feasible given area constraints) for storefronts to keep in stock. If you only want new movies on Tuesdays, you should just go get them from the store. It would probably be more cost effective in the long run since there aren't enough new releases to justify the 3 at a time plan. You'd have some serious waits if there's really nothing else you want to see.
End run if you're really that unhappy over things that are policy or the way things are done or what the service is aimed at, you're going to continue to be unhappy and should probably just cancel your service and go the hell away. If nothing else, quit cluttering the board with questions that have been addressed a hundred times. If you're that stupid that you can't get it by now, chances are you won't "get" the movie even if you get it.
Hmm...or we're just people who also pay for our service and are tired of you whiny trolls who just don't get you're wasting your money for something not suited to you?
You people probably go to Olive Garden when you want a good burger, don't you?
Last week and this week both I had new releases at the top of my queue and didn't get my movies at home in the mail by Saturday as usually is the case when I want new releases. No biggie I have lots of movies to watch that I like and want to see. So then I get non new releases on Tuesday, I watch one of them and send it back on Wednesday and low and behold I had that new release that I wanted to see on Thursday in my mailbox. That happened with these three movies in the last two weeks. Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem, Inside and The Orphanage.
I guess I'm doing something right cause Netflix love me.
