I am having a problem with Nerflix instant and hoping someone here can help out. I am getting a script error whenever I try to watch something, as seen in the screenshot attached. I have IE6 on XP, with a fresh install of WMP 11. I reinstalled WMP for troubleshooting, didn't fix it.

I have the same issue. I am trying to see if Microsoft has a bug fix. From what I understand, it may just be a registry issue. I am trying to run it on an older computer with XP. My Instant Watching is usually unhindered on a newer machine or my Vista laptop.
I could be wrong, but I think the script error is actually from the Media Usage Rights window behind the script error message. Maybe if you focus on what's causing the other error, you'll clear up the script error. I got that window a lot when I had Comcast for a month and it kept going out on me (I still don't understand how or why the two are connected, but every time Comcast would come back up, it would take an hour or so before I could access anything on NF's site, even though other sites loaded fine right away and I'd loose my media rights to everything). I had to call NF tech support to get it fixed.

That window hidden behind the error message is normal, it's just notification that IE is in the process of acquiring the license needed for the DRM. I don't know what setting or circumstance makes it pop up versus stay hidden, but for me it pops up and makes me click "Play" for every single movie I watch via IW. Sometimes more than once.

I got that same message at one time, and in the back of my memory I *think* I had to upgrade to IE7 to make it go away. But I'm not completely sure about that. The more I think about it though, the more I think that's it, it was my wife's computer and she had been fine with IE6 and had no other use for IE7 but I upgraded it for her.
This is a bug with the DRM that was introduced at the end of July. I haven't been able to use the instant player since then. If you lower your resolution to 1024x768 or lower it should work. I reported this to Netflix about a month ago.
Ok, it's not a bug it's a feature.

If your video card or monitor isn't "hdmi compatible" DRM assumes you can copy the video and disables playback.

For me, I have an 8800gtx which is supposedly "HDMI compatible" but it turns out only in single-link DVI not in dual-link DVI. This means I actually have to reduce resolution to 1280x800 (single link resolution) to get Instance Watching to work now.

It still worked before July though.

It's not Netflix's fault. It's the fact that the MPAA forced DRM/COPP on them in order to distribute the content.
You must call netflix to resolve this problem. Netflix is using a new player and you have to install it. I was told that there are only some customers who did not get a pop up the first time they tried to play after the upgrade. Mine works great now and it only took a couple of minutes. Or you can go to www.netflix\silver and it will take you to the upgrade. Good Luck.

I am receiving script errors when using the "remove from queue" option for instant play.

I was informed by Netflix that my JAVA files are corrupt. And now its my problem.

Every attempt to repair, uninstall and reinstall JAVA has failed.

If we are required to use JAVA for Netflix then Netflix should at least require JAVA to provide a clean un/reinstall and support.

A Google search of "cannot uninstall JAVA" will yield thousands of posts. There are no posted FAQ or search results for this problem on the JAVA web page. JAVA wants to charge for tech support.

Although i'm somewhat PC savvy and can at least try to resolve this problem, I can imagine the average Netflix user is pulling their hair out.
