Have you tried "Monk"? I had a hard time getting into it the first couple of times I watched (I think his eccentricities set off my own) but now I really like the show. And if you count medical mystery shows, I love "House".
Have you ever watched Touching Evil? Next to Arrested Development I would say it was the best show to ever get canceled. USA ran it for a season. Sadly it was never put out onto DVD so you can't get it from Netflix. It was a remake of a British series by the same name (which you can get on Netflix) but I've never watched the British version, but the reviews are good.
The British version is fantastic! One of my favorite British shows. I haven't seen the U.S. version, so I can't compare the two.
Thanks, I'll check it out. If you ever come across the US version give it a go.
I have been watching the "Cadfael" series which I missed when it frst was shown on PBS. It's not the best transfer to DVD but the stories are short and interesting. This is the series about the monk / detective from about 1150 A.D. in England.

Another set that I am currently viewing is the "Blue Murders". This is another of those BBC police / detective programs which is similar to the "Last Detective". Do not get put off by the title "Blue". There is nothing objectionable about it.
I have Blue Murders in my queue, but haven't watched any yet. I watched the first cadfael, but haven't seen any more, I'll go back and check it out.
Nero Wolfe is a classic, don't miss it. I really enjoyed Foyles War. He is a detective in Britain during the war.
Monk is also excellent. Make sure you get through the first one because it gets better and better.
It seems as though I have a list for every occasion. :) Classic Whodunnit
Loved your list. I added some of your list to my Queue.Thanks. I loved the Thin man
Aye, The Thin Man was great. I enjoyed the entire Nick and Nora series.
