Is there any way to adjust the settings for the Media Player plug-in? All the movies I watch instantly are so dark sometimes you can't tell what's going on.

@ Baumbe and wendy-

I'm still running Win XP SP3, so your mileage may vary...

upper left hand side of WMP v11 -  Choose View

then Enhancements

then Video Settings  and you should see four sliders that include brightness:

Hope that helps.

And now I checked my wife's laptop which uses Win 7 and WMP 12.

Wow.  Bad news.  It has no controls and advises that you change the settings of your entire Display if you want a brighter picture.  Click the Help button and type video too dark, that should lead you there.

If you don't know how to do that, just ask.  (The internet or me, we're both usually around.)

When streaming Netflix movies, the nighttime/dim lit scenes are too dark. I had some success adjusting brightness and contrast on my desktop computer, but no success on my iphone and ipad2. SoI called Netflix to report this issue, since there is no other way to communicate the issue. Customer service said that the more people that call to complain, the more likely that the issue will get resolved. So please call them and tell them the video quality is too dark during night/dim scenes, if you have this issue. Call Netflix 1-800-585-7265.
