Anyone else having problems with mailing out movies and Netflix not receiving them?

I live in Huntington Beach, less then 5 miles from the Santa Ana, CA distribution center where I mail my movies back to and it is still taking Netflix 3+ days to recieve them. This was not previously the case, I've been an Netflix subscriber for over 2 years now and the last 6 months or so have been having this problem. If this occurrence happend once or twice I wouldn't be concerned however this is happening every single time, and I'm getting to the point of considering cancelling my membership out of frustration.

Previously, if I mailed a movie out Monday morning Netflix almost always recieved and shipped Tuesday and I received it in Wednesday's mail. At this exact moment I sent 3 movies out in Saturday mornings mail and its now Wednesday and they still have not received any of them. I cannot believe that it would take 4 days to mail something 5 miles away. The worst part is this has been the case for every movie and the mail time progressively getting longer and longer. I have also contacted Netflix customer service and the only resoluction I received was 5 dollars off the next month but the problem has yet to be resolved.

It's most likely a problem at your post office or where you're mailing them from (like a specific mail box or from work). I found if I mail mine from where I work, it takes an extra day, at least. But if I mail them from a friend's office, NF gets them the next day. Try mailing them from somewhere else, or better yet, drop them off at the post office -- maybe that will show you whose end the problem is on.
I thought so too however it has been the same situation when I mail from both locations home (Huntington Beach) and work (Irvine) and actually now that I think about it home takes about 3 days and work 4, both locations are very local to Santa Ana. In addition, about two or three weeks ago I actually dropped them off at the Santa Ana post office and it still took Netflix 3 days to receive them. I assumed the problem would be resolved but it is only getting worse.
One other glitch that could cause this (although you seem to have sidestepped the possibility by taking them directly to the P.O.) is a postal delivery person being on vacation. Where I live, if there's a substitute person on the route, sometimes the outgoing mail isn't even picked up from my apartment house drop box.
Vanessa,
I have this exact thing happening to me, and it has been for about two months now. If I send a video today they get it tomorrow as always, but they then take as long as three to five days to get around to sending me a replacement!! The latest dvd they show back in as of Monday and my latest email says they are sending my next dvd from all the way over in California! they claim it will get here Saturday.

I'm ticked off about it and I called and got nowhere, of course. One week they told me(two days later from the return receipt day) that they'd send it tomorrow, the next day they sent an email stating it'd mail the next day from some far away state, the next day I got one from that remote location stating they would send one soon, and it was two days after that email that they actually sent it and 3 days more before it got here!!! Yup, I'm discouraged. Been a member for several years and enjoy the service when it works right. And I would easily accept any logical explanation, at least an honest answer would be nice. But one thing about netflix...anytime you call with any issue with service they usually have little or no help at all.

Also I'm sick of the run around on my dvd's coming from different locations around the country. There should be an option in our account to let us choose for all dvd's to come from our local center and no others. I have enough in my queue that there is always a option. I think this business about it coming from other locations is a canned response or some attempt to fix poor performance from service centers.

I had problems a few years ago but tried a second service rep on another day and was given some normal response and logical explanations so I stayed a member. But here I am again, and no help from the call center, just lame excuses. And no complaint department, so we as customers have no outlet for our problems but this forum. Maybe it's time to describe my issues with poor service in every online group where the topic is pertinent. Maybe loosing business from bad press is all they'll (netflix) understand.

sorry this got long folks... But I'm ticked off! (can you tell)
I love my netflix but it is getting to be more of a hassle. I actually signed up for Blockbuster online’s free trial today. Although I already don’t like it, but I thought I would still give it a try. It’s so frustrating when I have over two hundred movies in my queue and I have 2 years worth of movies rated but so far I don’t see any improvement.
Blockbuster is better if you live by one. You can at least go pick out a movie without waiting. I started with them when they first started out trying to compete with Netflix. Had to drop them but me and my ex joined them months later when you could exchange the movies at the store. We lived walking distance and it was GREAT....she would go in during the day and get the new releases or whatever movie we wanted. Never a wait....it was really nice.

Right now I don't live by one and it sucks...otherwise I would be there.

Blockbuster will catch up to Netflix in ratings/reviews so in the long run, Netflix will be in trouble.

It's weird...your so close to the DC and I'm in Fresno and the DC is in Bakersfield and my turnaround is better than yours. What gives here...lol

I don't think that's the exact same problem Vanessa had. She says NF doesn't receive her DVDs for days, but you're saying they do receive them, they just don't mail new ones right away. Two totally different problems. But FTR, other people are having the same problem you are and there are a few threads around here about delays that you can look into if you want (but I think you already know that).
I am having the same problem. It takes Netflix 3-4 days to receive my movies. I also live very close to the Santa Ana distribution center. It's thursday and they haven't received the movies I mailed back on monday and tuesday. I used to have a 3 day turn around which was great. This has been happening for 2 weeks. I have tried calling but you get a different excuse with each person you talk to. Thank goodness for instant watch. I don't get as frustrated as long as there are movies in my IW queue.
Can you be brief on the instant watch? Do you watch on your PC Monitor??? Does it cost more???
i was having that problem the last two weeks. But now things are ok. I think its cause we went through hurricane gustav and the mail was just crazy. I was expecting things to take forever since is has been but when i looked at my queue this morning i saw they recieved my dvds from yesterday and are shipping today. So Im not sure what causes the delays. Wish i knew. A few times that happened to me. One week because of it i only got one round of dvds which got me mad lol. That time was about two-three months ago.

I live about an hour away from the shipping center here. So im not far to where it should take that long.
I live 400 miles from my distribution center and it still takes them 5 days to send my next movie. Most likely it is a combination of slow mail and the distribution center. it would probably take them 3 days even if they were next door to you!
Do you have a Blockbuster nearby? To be able to exhange at the store is such a benefit I can't even begin to explain.
