The Rolling Stones said "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and I'm afraid our last trip to Blockbuster felt the same way. I usually find whatever I want on Netflix...however when I went looking for the 2005 TV Series "Life With Bonnie" on Netflix, I was disappointed to see it was not content Netflix had licensed.
Then a friend showed me how to request titles to be added to the Netflix catalog buy contacting Netflix's Content Buying Group. Just Hit [ContactUs] link at the bottom of your page and hit "Title Request" (URL http://www.netflix.com/Suggest?type=0&lnkctr=cu_tr)
David, results have been mixed on Netflix's response to these title requests. I have requested two titles and both were eventually added, but I have heard of other who still have not had their requests met. A lot of variables: Is the title available, is the studio (distribution alarm) providing copies to Netflix, etc.
Any time you have a User Suggestion, be aware that Netflix recently hid the link on the Contact Us page. However, select Movie Correction then look under the dropdown list; it appears there.

I wish someone could explain to me why X-Files: Fight the Future is not available for rent with an "Unknown" release date. It's a 10 year old movie that was a blockbuster in the theaters.
Why does Netflix make it so hard to request new titles? And why can't they put in a page that lists titles as unavailable and the reason why? We are adults, mostly, and we can understand when it is the fault of the studio or distributor, or perhaps an availabilty-in-the-right-format question? It is frustrating to feel like you are the only person in the world not finding a dvd you want, requesting Netflix acquire it, and then? Nothing but silence. Please Netflix, upgrade this type of customer service. WE WANT IT.
As primarily a Blu-Ray user I see a lot of titles not available on NF. I've been using hidef-digest dot com as my resource for future release dates. I'm going to start a thread today to cover this listing titles that do not appear on the NF site. If you are a BR user please check it out.
