I realize this is something difficult to answer and there are lot of interested entities that all want their piece of the pie, but this is something that was done last year for these shows (and others) and I haven't heard yes they are continuing it or no they aren't anywhere.
Heroes starts on Monday, Numbers starts soon, and I'm guessing the CSI's are on about ready to premier as well. I've seen no announcement of them continuing to stream these shows anywhere the day after the air and I'm simply trying to find out if anyone knows.
"It gets even more complicated when shows go into syndication, because you have a distributor who buys the rights to rebroadcast a show, who then sells those rights to other networks, and they might sell those rights on a rotational scale (channel A gets to show the episodes from day 1-365, channel B gets the shows from day 400-525... there is a period of time where the show is not being viewed, so why not see if Netflix wants to stream it on days 366-399...)"
As an addendum to 2McAbre's answer, compare the offerings of current shows, old shows, seasons, and movies on Hulu to that of NF IW. Distributors have to scrabble for, and pay for, whatever is even licensable.
Hey everyone, new to Netflix and wondering what the wait time is for new episodes of TV shows (CSI, Big Bang Theory etc.) to air via 'watch instantly". Does anybody have any idea if this has expanded to include more shows for the coming spring season? Thanks.
