Calling all Classic film fiends! What is on instant that you know about and recommend?

We need two lists. The popular ones (for classic newbs) and the more obscure ones so those of us who watch classics may find new ones to enjoy. Remember, this is Instant only.

More Obscure:

* Balls of Fire

* To Be or Not To Be (1942)

* Heartbeat

* Magic Town

* Foreign Correspondent (this beat our Rear Window as my favorite Hitchcock film)

* Any of the early Alfred Hitchcock films, most are available for Instant.

* I Was a Male War Bride

* The Third Man

* My Favorite Brunette (only if you're a Noir lover though)

More Popular:

* My Man Godrey

* Arsenic and Old Lace

* Double Indemnity (this is one of my favorite classics of all time)

* Dial M for Murder

Phew! That's it for the moment.

Here's my list

POPULAR - The Asphalt Jungle (1950), Blackboard Jungle (1955), A Farewell to Arms (1932) and (1957), Love Is a Many Splendored Thing (1955), War and Peace (1956)

OBSCURED - The Birth of a Nation (1915), Charlie Chan (several), Charlie Chaplin collection (1914), The Phantom of the Opera (1925), Sherlock Holmes (several)

Love Asphalt Jungle.  Back later to add other films.

Destry is classic!

By the way, "Balls" of Fire is an entirely different film than Ball of Fire.

LOL! You are absolutely correct. Thanks for that. ;)

Like um, kid add La strada.

Thanks for starting this thread.

I have little to add at the moment except the obscure

The Lady and the Monster 1944 with gorgeous noir cinematogrphy by John Alton

I just watched The Train (1964) a couple of days ago and really enjoyed it.
