Featured Group status....a boon or the kiss of death? What groups should be featured (IYO)?

I know groups (open groups--closed groups are cults that will outlive the cockroaches and the lawyers--people will post to Paracinema well after the dawning of the Apocalypse) around these parts are animals that have a life cycle (the good ones)....intial excitement, stable and then flatliners and then sometimes a brief resurrection....at least that's been the experience of most of my groups.

I'm always excited when one of my groups gets featured group status...but sadly it always seems like the kiss of death!

What groups do you think should be featured (not that I want any group to get the kiss of death--although I don't think featured group status should be the kiss of death--I'm sure that's not the intention of the NF:MF gods!)

Click on Groups in the toolbar and the featured groups will be at the top.  I think they are just randomly selected.

I'm almost 100% positive they are NOT randomly selected.

I can't imagine most of them being selected on purpose or for a reason--most are pretty dead.

Football is a small group, but running 4 seasons And has a lot of old timers in it. Not sure about how the rest are now featured. You could probably request to get your group featured if you have anew/burgeoning group......
