Bless your heart for singling me out!!! From the bottom of my own black heart, THANK YOU for the carte blanche.
Should you ever rise beyond your already stale complaint thread, I promise to use this generous power you have bestowed on me as irresponsibly as I can!
For every 1 good movie there are 10 that totally suck.
So if one in ten of the 12,000 movies offered are 'good,' that means there are still 1200 good titles. If you watch 20 movies per month, it will take you five years to work your way through them (not counting 'good' titles added during that time). Happy viewing!
Watchnow is a free service for Netflix (DVD in the mail) users. We don't pay for Watchnow. You seem to want a pay download service.
BTW, I have an Xbox 360 and a number of Vista Media Center PCs but I wont pay (~$49.99 a year) for an "Xbox Live Account" just to access a truncated list of Watchnow movies that are supposed to free to Netflix users. Thats like Microsoft adding a transport tax for media thats not theirs on a service thats not theirs,.....thats just not right I tell you ;)

We went ahead and got a gold membership only because we had been toying with it for multiplayer access on the Xbox, with them adding instant watch it tipped the hand and then we found gold memberships for 38 dollars on Amazon, and I grudingly told Mr. Slappy go have fun. I am still ticked off though with Xbox for still saying it is free when it is their end that is costing me not NF. Not to mention the fact that I have been ticked at Xbox for the fact that multiple gamertags you have to have multiple gold accounts, so if I want to play multiplayer I have to buy a gold account for my gamertag too.
I am loving my NF IW feature, there is a ton of my favorite genre, anime. Not to mention I have been adding things to IW that I wouldn't normally let a queue space get taken up with. It is also great for TV shows, but I never once expected new releases to be on it, I am shocked at some of the newer things because the movie studios are notorious for balking at digital streaming. There are tons of news articles about it, Apple has been fighting with them on and off for years to get newer items for iTunes. Not to mention several companies that wanted to start up to show first run movies at a hefty price at home the day the theaters show them, that was shut down by the movie studios too.
Movie studios hold all the licenses they decide when/where and how we can watch movies. They are the ones that tell theaters/DVD production/iTunes/NF/etc when they can show a movie, how many times, how many copies to make etc... Just like the reason why some movies are not IW on the Xbox are Sony owned in the end, and are we really surprised by that considering PS3 didn't get IW as a feature?
Because I enjoy playing games online and I'm really the only one who uses my 360 I don't really have a problem paying for the service for Gold. However I have to agree with you, I was totally stoked when I signed up for NF and found sooo many good titles of Anime on IW. Not only that but the bizzilion TV shows, great old movies, and some decently recent ones that I never really got around to going to the Theater to watch or seeing on TV. There are plenty of movie options for those who only want to watch stuff on IW. I am pleased to see that I am not the only 360 user who actually enjoys the selection of IW as well as the fact that I can enjoy movies sent to my door. I used to be a member of Blockbuster Online but I gave that up quite a while ago, am actually happier with the NF service that I have recieved since joining. I have not run into any issues yet with movies in the IW stream that won't show on my 360 so perhaps I am lucky or just a good picker in movies. Hehe.
If this new generation of putzes can't even rally around a nude Tanya Roberts, then I fear all is lost.
Hey i am in that new generation lol. I don't think i am a putz! But then again i am not much for Tanya Roberts nude but i do like Clash of the Titans so maybe i am just in the middle.
