Netflix Movie Fans

This is the place to list your profile if you've chosen to join our protest against the recent changes on the Netflix website (read a lot more here). If you've replaced your review text with a protest note like the one below (feel free to copy this, but it doesn't have to be identical), post a link to your Netflix profile or your reviews so we can keep track of our progress and hand out some assistance:

Here are some samples you can use wholly or in part (feel free to correct the date, for instance):

"Dear reader, Until March 12th 2010 this was an actual real review. Because the new design that NetfIix has implemented for movie detail pages removed information about what our friends rated movies, as well as top 10 lists and the ability to send movie notes, I've decided to move my reviews elsewhere. I see no reason to supply NetfIix with free content when NetfIix does not support its users. To see my reviews click on my profile picture to the left and follow the link there to the NetfIix Community. If NetfIix decides to reverse its stance on this issue, I'll happily bring my reviews back, but until then, this note will take its place. I apologize for the inconvenience, dear reader, and hope you'll forgive this non-review."

"This was a movie review until NetfIix decided to remove friend features. Since NetfIix seems to place no value on its most active members, I'm no longer going to be an active member. The new design that they have implemented for movie detail pages removed friends' ratings, top 10 lists and the ability to send movie notes. If NetfIix decides to reverse its stance on this issue, I'll start writing reviews again. Until then, I am no longer going to give them free content and I've decided to move my reviews elsewhere. If you are reading this, please call NetfIix andhttp://www.netflix.com/StrangerReviews?prid=608651759&lnkctr=fs... ask them to give us our community features back. I apologize for this non-review."

"Under normal circumstances I might have reviewed this DVD, but when NF implemented the new DVD page detail design they removed friends' ratings, top 10 lists and the ability to send movie notes. That made it harder for me and others to find movies we'll like. If you are reading this, please call NetfIix and ask them to give us the community features back. I apologize for this non-review."

Oh, right. He's probably keeping his balls on ice.
lol
that's funny. Yeah Hank probably.
I put one of my generic reviews on it :-) What's he gonna do? cancel my account?
I just reviewed it with a copy of his blog post.
Nice! That'll show the fucker who's boss!
Ooops. I think I just gave it one star.
Well, it looks like we managed to get a response, albeit not the one we'd hoped. I sincerely believe Netflix is making a mistake, if they get rid of the Friends section completely. Unfortunately, that is the message we received tonight (in a rather condescending way, I might add, that did nothing to ease my anger).

That would mean no more Top 10 lists (you better save those somehow, before they go poof!), no more movie notes, no more Reviewer Ranking. Perhaps even no more "profiles" (I don't mean sub-accounts, but our little "profile" next to our reviews), they may completely anonymize our reviews. I don't know.

I expect that soon I can't see what's in my wife's queue, unless I log in as her. Smart move, Netflix. And she still can't use the Facebook Connect feature, because she's a sub-account of mine. Another smart move, Netflix. Sigh.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm not going to put my reviews back up on a site that basically tells me that they don't want me around.

I'm going to take my 200 lists elsewhere if I can find a place for them, and if not, delete them. Better by me than by them.

I'm going to export my 2800+ ratings to savemyratings (or some such site).

I'm not going to give them anything for free until they start giving me what I want. They fumbled the ball, now they have to fight to get it back.
They will kill the sub-accounts or start allowing them to use WI. Why have queues that can only use the obsolete DVD mode when that's against the business plan.
That would mean no more Top 10 lists (you better save those somehow, before they go poof!)

Just a suggestion if anyone wants an easy to keep your ton ten lists online.

http://www.listsofbests.com/

(Ex. Random pick of a personal list - Top 50 Dystopian Movies of All Time)

You can create a list of anything there and you can make it personal so only you can edit it. If you make it public, anyone can edit it. This is useful for lists that change like the IMDb top 250. You don't need to know any kind of HTML or markup language, and it really easy to use. There are a few quirks, but they aren't too big of a deal. My main annoyance is that some movies are connected and count as seen when in fact they are different movies - two versions of Cape Fear for example.
Thanks, Snorii. I'll check it out.
www.listsofbests.com is a great site, but it's a hassle to create lists.

www.icheckmovies.com is currently working on a "v. 2.0" which will include the ability to creat your own lists, but we're still waiting for v. 2.0 to arrive. It's another great site, btw, I really like it.
Yeah, but if I can't create (or re-create) my own personal lists, what's the point?

Flixster has a list making mechanism which is very similar to NF except that it doesn't autofill and I haven't found a way to add a movie to multiple lists (doesn't mean it doesn't exist).
