Netflix Movie Fans

This is the place to list your profile if you've chosen to join our protest against the recent changes on the Netflix website (read a lot more here). If you've replaced your review text with a protest note like the one below (feel free to copy this, but it doesn't have to be identical), post a link to your Netflix profile or your reviews so we can keep track of our progress and hand out some assistance:

Here are some samples you can use wholly or in part (feel free to correct the date, for instance):

"Dear reader, Until March 12th 2010 this was an actual real review. Because the new design that NetfIix has implemented for movie detail pages removed information about what our friends rated movies, as well as top 10 lists and the ability to send movie notes, I've decided to move my reviews elsewhere. I see no reason to supply NetfIix with free content when NetfIix does not support its users. To see my reviews click on my profile picture to the left and follow the link there to the NetfIix Community. If NetfIix decides to reverse its stance on this issue, I'll happily bring my reviews back, but until then, this note will take its place. I apologize for the inconvenience, dear reader, and hope you'll forgive this non-review."

"This was a movie review until NetfIix decided to remove friend features. Since NetfIix seems to place no value on its most active members, I'm no longer going to be an active member. The new design that they have implemented for movie detail pages removed friends' ratings, top 10 lists and the ability to send movie notes. If NetfIix decides to reverse its stance on this issue, I'll start writing reviews again. Until then, I am no longer going to give them free content and I've decided to move my reviews elsewhere. If you are reading this, please call NetfIix andhttp://www.netflix.com/StrangerReviews?prid=608651759&lnkctr=fs... ask them to give us our community features back. I apologize for this non-review."

"Under normal circumstances I might have reviewed this DVD, but when NF implemented the new DVD page detail design they removed friends' ratings, top 10 lists and the ability to send movie notes. That made it harder for me and others to find movies we'll like. If you are reading this, please call NetfIix and ask them to give us the community features back. I apologize for this non-review."

NewfMum: i know there's something called greencine ... i won't give bible belt corporate blockbuster any of my $$.... had a negative experience cuz i couldn't find almodovar's MATADOR film, cuz it's NC-17. i protested but that's when i learned they are real arseholes....and terminated my membership right then and there.

but i will check out greencine but honestly i don't know enough about them yet. but something tells me i'm gonna... everyone is gonna have to look around and we will try to keep one another posted as best we can. fukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkity fukk.
I have Greencine, it's in SoCal and I'm on the East Coast so they are very slow to fill orders. So if you are used to NF, GC will be a shocking change. Also, forget about any new movies. They do have a large catalogue of old movies, but only one copy of each, so there is always a very long wait. Thus it is very expensive when compared to NF. If they would switch to a per disc shipped fee, then it would be OK; but you can go months without recieving a single disc and still pay a monthly fee.
Oh, bummer.
Posting and blogging over ther is fun in a sort of frat house way. And there are quite a few people who are very knowledgeable about film, and very friendly. But I haven't been there in some time. There is a rumor they have gone out of business.

Good one, Sock.
The one thing they never seem to teach in U.S. business schools is that there is nothing as expensive as greed. The grooming, tailoring and image, though, they seem to have down pat. He'd make a good-looking corpse.
Well if you want a critique, I'd have to say he failed the grooming and image portion of his MBA...

Ties loose and not pinned to shirt, jacket is open/unbuttoned while standing and addressing the "crowd". His shirt collar is sticking up and outside his jackets lapel... I could just imagine the faux pas with his slacks & shoes.

Oh and those do not look like cufflinks, they look like sewn in buttons! How cheesy! And don't get me started on the polka dot tie with the striped jacket!
Very good. But did you get the pinky right? :)
*puts Mort over knee*

pinky my butt! :^P

Do you know how hard it is to find a big enough hand with a skinny wrist that's flipping the bird? Let alone oriented in the correct direction (well I had to rotate it about 16 degrees). Never mind removing the glass of wine from the image without trashing the image too badly.

Of course then I decided I wanted it to look plastic, so I over air brushed the image in a few places to make him look more fake like a Ken Doll :-}

Besides.... Isn't the middle finger stuck up and the pinky extended some sort of gang sign?
NF should include this guy in their tv commercials.

"Yeah, I'd be it was a wild scene back then--prime blaxploitation era or close to it, disco era too, iirc.    I think I read the other day there are a couple of bios on Koch, I'll have to check NF."
