My sister and I were having this discussion the other day, and I had to settle on Elias in Platoon. It was such an iconic image, and full of so many different emotions. I still get goose bumps every time I see it. Any body else got any good ones?
Hmmm. I'm sure more will come to me but the first one I thought of was the scene in "On the Beach" (new version) where the family take their pills. Not a gory or action filled scene, but was probably one of the hardest ones for me to sit through and I will never forget it.
Here's a couple: The Devil's Rejects, when the girl from the hotel goes running out toward the road right in the path of the semi truck. The Shining, when Scatman Crothers takes an axe to the chest. Scanner's, when that guy's head explodes. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, when the two guy's are attacked while driving down the road and the driver ends up getting the top of his head chopped off. Psycho, when Norman smacks the old lady up side the head with the shovel. Motel Hell, they have those people buried in the ground with just there heads sticking out, they use the tractor to pull them out, but not until the tractor does a wheelie and breaks there necks. Day of The Dead, when the zombies tear that one guy to pieces while he's still alive. The Green Mile, when they electrocute the French man and Percy doesn't put the wet sponge on his head, nothing but screaming and smoke. Oh yeah, I second the curb stomp in American History X , brutal!
