Netflix Movie Fans

According to Consumerist, Netflix has agreed to receive questions from users. Here's the press release:

We know that many of you are subscribers to Netflix, and that many of you have a lot of questions about where the company is heading as the
streaming video market grows and more companies -- even retailers like
Best Buy, Walmart and Sears -- get into the on-demand video business.
Well, Netflix has just agreed to respond to questions from Consumerist
readers on this and other topics.

So now is your chance to submit your questions to us. ........... but your best chance of being
heard is to send your submission to tips@consumerist.com with "Netflix Query" in the subject line.

Which may only prove how clueless they are if they pull the plug on the Friends section while at the same time taking questions. Let the deluge begin!

The answers to many of the questions asked so far can be found at hackingnetflix.com.

Many other answers can be extracted with some difficulty at the rather flaky netflixcommunity.ning.com

It's only been flaky since we ran out of dandruff shampoo.
ROFL! So Jane at some nowhere place thinks we are flaky? What does that make her? Pimply?

Of course if she is refering to the ning platform I'd have to agree, its pretty dusty...

Wow... There are even more stupid people posting over there then here! I'd say we are succeeding at weeding out the absolute idiots and getting them to go somewhere else. :-D
Must... resist... obvious... comment... Argh!
Blah Ha Ha! Don't hold back on my account! Let er Rip!

You do realize that they'll only answer the questions they decide to answer, right?
*nods* And I'm sure they have employees seeding them so that "they" cannot say that Netflix didn't answer questions from the site...
I also wouldn't be surprised if it isn't like the reviews and have key word filters also.
I can see them all now:

1.) Why doesn't Netflix support Linux?
ans: We did a survey of our customers and found that such a small number have even heard of Linux that it just would not be a financially sound investment as we move forward with our streaming commitment.

2.) Why doesn't Netflix use Flash instead of Silverlight?
ans: Silverlight is a much more robust application then flash and has a more stable platform that is accepted on a much larger percentage of home users computers. Not to mention that as we move forward with our streaming commitment our focus is more on stand alone player that incorporate many different features so as to reduce the hardware footprint in persons homes, so there is really less effort put into developing a player for the personal computer at this time.

3.) Why isn't there more content on Instant Watch?
ans: On that I'd have to disagree... In 2007 we had just barely 2000 titles available for streaming and that number has grown to nearly 30000 titles in just three short years. That number will continue to grow as more and more equitable deals are made between Netflix and the content providers.

4.) Why doesn't Netflix rent video games?
ans: Because you idiots! Netflix is about "MOVIES" (dur and duh) not console games. NEXT ?!

5.) Why doesn't Netflix carry Pr0n?
ans: Are you kidding me? With all the free crap you can get on the internet you want us to waste our money and resources feeding your woodies?

I am going on record with these "before" they do it, saying that these 5 questions and answers will be very close to at least 5 of the questions and answers they take/give. ROFL! With the exception being the answer to #4, being what they would like to say, but not being the actual answer they will give, though in context it will be similar.
To 3) With over 100,000 DVD titles I would like to see that number going up substantial.

To 5) Don't worry you can fill your need in the Netflix "Gay and Lesbian" section which comes in my perspective very close to X-rated. Which brings me to the question why Netflix saw the need to spend the money on such a section. So when we finally get parental rating for our streaming products and can decide what rating our kids can see or not see maybe we can also include the feature to exclude a couple categories like "Gay and Lesbian"!
I agree with the faggot in the pink shirt.
Huzzah!
Hussy!
