Netflix Movie Fans

I am not trying to be clueless but for some reason I am unable to access netflix website. I am being told to enable cookies. I have followed the instructions it listed I have turn off my firewall. I have allowed netflix as approved site. I have windows vista and internet explorer 8. What am I missing that is not allowing access to the website? Please Help.

The easiest way to correct this (sounds like someone locked you down) is to open IE8 and then click on Tools (top right) and select Internet Options.

Then click on the Security tab. If the button that says "Reset all Zones to default level" can be clicked, do so (answer "yes" and Apply or OK your way out. You may need to close and reopen IE8). This will remove any settings that may have been placed on your browser that is blocking even trusted sites.

Default settings are good for most people, you will see some popups asking "do you want to do this or that", the default is most often "yes" and you will only have to click once.

Oh and make sure to turn your firewall back on ;-)

Just an FYI if Socks help doesn't work.

This happened to me the other night. I had been on the site for several hours with no problems and was clicking Helpful on reviews. Suddenly, I got that "you must enable cookies" message with the instructions. I use Firefox and cookies ARE enabled for Netflix but no matter what I did it wouldn't let me on the site. Conspiracy thoughts flooded into my head but before I went all Fox Mulder I restarted my computer and the error went away. Hopefully your error message is gone to - I do think it's something with NF and not your computer.
This happens to me often. Cookies ARE enabled and it continues to have the problems. I normally have to restart my computer for it to recognize, but even this does not help, but then it will start working again randomly
I've encountered this "problem" a couple of times when I was updating the Reviewer Ranking listing in a group here on the forum. I thought it was weird because it was sudden and in the middle of a "session". Turns out the URL had the word "speedtrap" in it, so if you open too many Netflix tabs too quickly, the site will block you, using the "cookies" as an excuse.

This may not be the case for you, but take a good look at your address bar and see what the URL says.
