Netflix Movie Fans

Hello all,

I am trying to find the name of a movie about gargoyles that was made in the 50s or 60s.
The info I have about it is lame at best but I hope it may help jog some memories.

It was about a male and a female.
They werent evil or dangerous they just wanted to be left alone.
They had a child.
It was black and white.

Please dont be overwhelmed by the details.

Thanks,

JOHN.

I have no doubt that the movie was in black and white not just poorly colored. The ending consisted of them driving away down a dirt road away from the police. The car was most definately from the fifties. The police looked at a hole below a building and that was pretty much the ending. The clip is too new to be from the movie I am looking for.
I looked at the video clip and it is not the movie we are looking for. The movie does not have the 70's look to it as the one in the clip. I agree with johny5 that the movie was definitely made earlier and in Black and white.

Your right and the police car was a old 50's round top not a 60's car and the dirt road I believe had a sign over it like a old ranch or something

yep I hear you, I don't know where else to look, I have searched every old movie database I could find and came up empty, I would really like to see this search resolved so I will keep looking and keep watching this thread. Sorry that wasn't it, it seemed like it was pretty close but heh that only counts in horse shoes.

Any luck in finding this movie?
Have you found this movie yet? I still cannot...any help would be appreciated.

Still no luck, I have just very recently found a movie forum on FB that may help dunno yet cause I havent asked them. If I ever find out I will post it.

Hi there,

I'm also trying to find this same movie. I remember it was very scary. I'm 44, and I'm sure it was in black and white as it so long ago, either that or as was mentioned earlier, it was all set at night time and very dark and the colour was poor. I was very very young when I saw it.

I remember the opening scene or close to it, where a Gargoyle was standing on top of a ridge watching a car drive along a desert road.

You had a Male and female with wings, and subordinates that did not have wings, towards the end the male gargoyle picks up the female gargoyle as her wings were damaged and flys off.

I would love to get a hold of this movie.

And yes it's not the 1972 movie, but another far superior movie.

let me know if anybody finds it.

Steve

ah-ha!!! I'm not going insane...yet..!!

glad I saw this thread...

I have seen the 1972 B-grader; similar but different...

I recall the movie as Black& white BUT Australia didn't get colour TV until 1974...however,

my guess is I saw it around 1978 though...and we still had lots of B/W tv sets still then (impoverished).

the gargoyle movie I recall the creature ripped through the roof of the car with it's claws, (causing greater damage than the minor panel beating job from 1974) - probably the most frightening part???

from recollection the creature flew after the car - then landed on it; the camera was from above - the creature wasn't lying prone like an amateur stunt man on the roof either...

the other reason I'm sure it wasn't the 1974 movie is my mate had a Ford station wagon with the same fold down or swing out tail-gate - so I'd have remembered that.

this was the movie I looked for...but came up with the 1974 one...

I am also looking for this film for my boyfriend. The only thing he remembers about it is that it was black and white, had gargoyles in it, and was incredibly scary. He also said if I ever find it, he'll marry me lol!

I am looking for this movie too. It scared the crap out of me when I was little. I am 44 now and have been wanting to see this movie again for years.  I did happen on it one night about 15 years ago. It didnt scare me because it was so incredibly bad. You could see the wires when they flew out of the cave. Its funny that a movie like this can stick with you, but like several people have pointed out, it scared the crap out of you back then.

hi ive been looking for a movie for years that i seen in the seventies also.i remember glowing red eyes but i also remember black and white,i think i might be crossing two movies together in my memory??? do u have any memory of one with red glowing eyes? i keep getting steered to the 1972 movie but it is not the one.
