Netflix Movie Fans

Hello all,

I am trying to find the name of a movie about gargoyles that was made in the 50s or 60s.
The info I have about it is lame at best but I hope it may help jog some memories.

It was about a male and a female.
They werent evil or dangerous they just wanted to be left alone.
They had a child.
It was black and white.

Please dont be overwhelmed by the details.

Thanks,

JOHN.

I too have been looking for this movie to refer to it in a magazine article. I remember at the end of the movie, three people in the front of a pickup and you see them driving off in the distance; they have managed to escape from the gargoyles. But then the camera pans up close to the back window of the pickup and you see a gargoyle hand go up on the back glass of the pickup. Of course the movie ends there. It is not the 1972 movie, as I too remember this one as being in black & white. It also seems that the gargoyles were only alive at night.

Did the Gargoyles have needles that came out of their fingers?

fwiw: i'm featuring this thread as I was also deeply freaked out as a kid by a gargoyle movie... i mean FREAKED... and i blocked it out for eons... but now that i'm, you know, older... for me I think it's the 72 film.... anyway, i like this thread.

Yeah -- i just watched some of this -- i think this was it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyZU6TVka_E  (Which makes sense. In 1972 i was 9 and probably caught this on TV)

thanks for digging it all up.

So, the big Five Oh this year, huh?  Congratulations!

The Movie was filmed in and around Carlsbad, NM and I am pretty sure it was titled " Night of the Gargoyles".

I belive it was filmed in the fifties and would really like to find a copy if available. The "Gargoyle Cave" is still a local attraction.

I think your title might be a bit "off."  Looked for it all over the internet but no movies come back with that title.  If you remember the correct title, please post back.  I am dying to find this movie (at least the title."

The film made in Carlsbad is the 1972 "Gargoyles."  Google "gargoyles Carlsbad."

That is correct. It was a tv movie, Bernie Casey played the Gargoyle.

Night of The Gargoyle was a book. You can buy it on Amazon.

There's been a discussion on IMDB going on since 2008 that seems to be trying to locate the same film you are.  Some people mention a few possible titles, but I don't think any of them are the one you're looking for.  Still, you could browse through the responses and see if anything clicks for you.

I searched for the keyword "gargoyle" at IMDB also, but it didn't turn up anything that seemed like what you're describing.

The one I am thinking of is black and white too. One detail I remember is that the gargoyles had needles that came out of their fingers. This movies scard me for years!!!

Here is a clip from the Gargoyles tv movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59Kz6G8174w
