A Netflix Community

I'm instantly watching a show on my xbox 360 using the NXE but this error keep showing up "Playback for this item could not be started". Last time this happen I just restarted the xbox and it work but now no matter what I do it never works. I even remove the series and added it but still no luck. I don't want to skip an episode and miss something...anybody think they can help me out? This is a really annoying problem and I was really enjoying the show.

In that case I would advise uninstall/reinstall the Netflix app from the Xbox and deactivate/reactivate the device on Netflix.com/activate.
Let me know if that helps if you haven’t already tried those steps.

I had this happen with an episode of a TV show as well. It has happened twice so far. The first time it happened I had started watching the show and stopped it about midway through. When I tried to resume I got this message. I then tried to watch restarting from the beginning and got the same error. I gave it up for the night and tried it the next day and the episode played with no problems.

So i am wondering if it indicates a streaming issue with that particular file at some point for Netflix itself.

ya this just started, its doing this on random movies and shows on my list but not all of them. Its weird like im in the 1st season of star trek and the first 2 episodes will work but not the 3rd won't but this looks like its an issue between xboxlive and netflix. Im not thinking it has anything to do with anyones network. Plus xboxlive is shutting down tonight at 2:00am PT for about 15 to 30 minutes for updating so hopefully the issue will be worked out or this issue started up because they are doing something on the xboxlive side at the moment.

I too am having problems. Have you tried viewing movies on a PC? After my xbox started to act up I tried them on my PC. I got an error code saying that I couldn't stream more than 1 movie. I'm sure that the episode I was watching earlier stopped (I even disconnected my internet). Today the PC still doesn't work and only some episodes work on the xbox. However on some episodes if you keep hitting play they will eventually work (at least for me). I do not know if the pc is unrelated, but I found it odd that it is acting up at the same time.

I'm having the exact same problem on my Xbox, but it just started doing this yesterday, just random things will not play. It's not making very much sense!!! :(

Yes, I am having the very same issue. Some episodes will not play but others will. It seems to be pretty random. I tried rebooting my system and the connection but nothing as changed. It is very odd that some things play normally though.

ya this is going on all over, i have a forum on the same issue on xbox.com also. Im still not seeing a answer or a response on either side. People are calling it in but are told it could be on the microsoft/xbox side. But im not seeing a for sure word from either side.

ok well i just looked and the shows and movies that were having this issue just started working with out me doing anything. I tried random shows and movies and can't find any that are having the issue anymore. So i can't say its fix'd but it looks like its working now for me but i will keep on checking the movies and shows on my list.
