Netflix Movie Fans

hello all, now that my son is starting to need Netflix attention (5 yr old) is there a way to set up my Netflix so it know the difference between me and him? I've got Apocalypse Now right next to Sesame Street, its getting really ridiculous, all my suggestions are messed up now too, I used to love my suggestions, they always seemed to fit, but now Netflix just seems confused, any thoughts?

Yes. You can give your son a separate profile. It'll still be under your account (you simply "assign" a number of your DVD's to his profile) and you can control the MPAA rating that profile is allowed to get. Go to Your Account & Help. Under "Preferences" select Account Profiles and pick "Add Profile". Fill out the information and, hey presto, your son has his own queue! He can have his own ratings and Netflix will make recommendations for him, based on those. You can then clear all those ratings that aren't yours.

thanks! I added an account, but he doesn't seem to have access to the instant watch queue, where most of his entertainment comes from, any way to edit that?
Nope. Streaming can only be done through the main account. There have been several threads here talking about that if you'd care to look for them to read more.
Adding a second profile also doesn't do much if you only have the 1 DVD at a time plan. :( Apparently if you've only got 1 slot/DVD to assign you can't very well give each profile 1 slot. Bummer. I don't really want to go to a 2 disc plan just to have a 2nd queue, i'd rather Netflix just alternate between my queues when sending me discs.

You could just as easily alternate the titles in your queue too ;-)

WOAH WOAH WOAH. Dial down all the logistical complexities, dude.

Maybe this explains all the Netflix discs that have been cracked in two?
The whole point was to avoid the day-to-day manual shuffling geniuses. Obviously i could manually manage the queue(s) but why not let Netflix handle it with some minimal logic changes to their queue management system?
At least "Us" geniuses know that 1÷1=1. And do tell, how is going in today and moving "Toxic Avenger" from spot 15 to spot 1 (because you are in the mood) any different from going in today and changing your 1 disk at a time from queue 1 to queue 3, because your in the mood for the cheesy horror of 3 instead of the bromances in 1?

As far as letting Netflix randomize queue's... How is that any different from getting them in the order you added them to one queue?
Take control!

Once you get a movie from one Profile, go in and change to the other Profile before you return the first one.
