I admit I don't read enough, but a few weeks ago I finished off Michael Chabon's The Yiddish Policemen's Union. I enjoyed it, but I preferred The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay. His style is hard to read sometimes, as he's the king of the run-on sentence.

Probably be awhile till I pick up a new book, unless someone gives me something particularly interesting for Christmas.

I, too, am a Chabon fan. If you were ever a superhero comic book fan, you will notice comic homages in most of his work, and not just in K & C. Not bad for a Pulitzer-winner.

I read a lot of crime novels: John Sanford, Dennis Lehane, Patricia Cornell.......

But I do like to mix it up a bit and recently read The Wanting Seed by Anthony Burgess
I also re-read Confessions of an Economic Hit man by John Perkins, there's a lot of information in that one so I had to read it twice. ( second time was mostly skimming)

Sanford is great, so Thomas Harris if u like menical villians that kill and kill and don't stop untill they are dead, lol. Anybody read Michael Cryton?

Currently im not reading anything all, i do have a copy of Jean Paul Satre's :Anti-Semite and Jew that i need to dust off the shelf. Its about his take on being assimilated with the Gentiles.

Recently read an old Donald E. Westlake novel, Trust Me On This, about reporters at a Florida-based tabloid. Westlake is always good.

Trust Me On This looks good, I like Tim Dorsey and Carl Hiaasen.
Sounds similar to them.

Westlake's funny stuff is always funny. Check out his Dortmunder series, too.

By the way, he also writes the Parker series under the pseudonym Richard Stark. Dark, not funny, stuff. The Mel Gibson movie Payback was based on this, but his character name was changed to Porter for reasons I can't fathom.

Wow. I just found out that Westlake passed away on New Years Eve. He will be missed.

I really enjoyed the two Dragonlance trilogies (Chronicles and Legends), but I haven't read it in quite a while now.

A couple of books I've read recently that I liked are Life of Pi and The Road. Right now I'm reading Lost Horizon.
