I'm assuming you have a LAN router, G or better.

I bought a cheap Blu Ray player that was wireless and handled Netflix.  It had no problem receiving my LAN all the way through the house to where my good TV is.  Nowadays they have good, cheap ones that are pre set to receive all the new over the PC channels - there's even a small box that runs $50 and gets all the channels wirelessly and just plugs into an available HDMI port.  With a little research you can be up and running in no time.

2 Megs?  Are you sure?  Wait a minute - OK, my current download speed from Netgear according to speedtest is 1.3 megs, so you should have no problem.  I watch NF's "best quality" movies on a 1080p 16x9 through my LAN/BD Player setup and the only problem I've ever had is a busy server on their end.  Very rare for me in the D.C. area, but I hear that SoCal has lots of server problems.  Otherwise I get great picture and sound 99% of the time.

Good luck!

I'd follow eviltimes' advice and forget about the Netflix->PC->HDTV route and buy (for instance) the cheapest Roku box available (~$50). That way you get Netflix->HDTV and the Roku can do much more than just Netflix (Amazon VOD ($), Hulu Plus ($), Pandora Internet Radio (free), Fox News (free), CNN (free), Al Jazeera English (free) and much much more). You can connect the Roku via ethernet cable, but I've had no problems using the wireless capability at all (then again, my wireless router is 7 feet from our Roku box, so they're close).

You can even buy an "extension" for the Roku (free to try for a month, $15 to buy) that lets you stream content from your PC to the Roku (via your router), so you can stream videos (only mp4 format, though) or show pictures or play music (mp3) from your harddrive.

I just realized I forgot the name of the "extension", it's called "Roksbox" and can be added as a channel in the Roku Channel store on the Roku box.

thanks guys for the info will investigate and let you know how i get on

cheers
