Streaming from a Samsung Blue Ray Player(it sucks)

It sucks.  The streamed shows often freeze or cannot connect.  When you call Samsung they suggested after about eight hours on the phone that we could ship our player back for repair.  It would take eight weeks.

DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG.

Well, that's streaming for you.

I stream from my Samsung bluray player and I've never had any problems.

You are lucky. In certain operating environments, I guess the samsung just won't stream netflix properly. after changing routers and about 20 hours of diagnostics with 2 different samsung 5700's, i used my friend's $50 Roku which had NO problems. Samsung will not give me  arefund, even a partial to pay for the Roku. Their technical and Customer service should be arrested

I never have any problems with my blue ray player and it's a Samsung and I have it for 2years. Maybe you were just unlucky and got a bad machine it happens.

Noted- I will send it in.

It is not a network problem. It is not a netflix problem. It is not a router problem. Use your samsung for a door stopper and buy a cheap Roku or Dynex. I guarantee either will work fine

Guess I've been lucky with my Samsung. But I have read great reviews about Roku.

I have exactly the same thing.  I have a BD5600 and it constantly rebuffers and sometimes disconnects.  Neither Netflix or Samsung will help at all.

I gave my Samsung away, and bought a ROKU. I have streamed every episode of '24' ( 193 episodes)  and 50 episodes of Mad Men without one rebuffering incidentwithout 1

Forgot to mention Samsung would NOT give me even a partial refund on  the Blue Ray Player that was exchanged. Will NEVER buy another Samsung product

"Go to this page and see if lowering the stream settings helps. https://movies.netflix.com/HdToggle (I have it on "Good quality" and otherwise it would not work very well for me.) Let us know if this solution helps you."
