I added the 6th season of The L Word to instant watch..and it's censored. Wth? It censors every F***, S**t, edited out sex scenes and blurred out nipples? This is the ONLY instance I've seen anything censored on Instant Watch and I wonder "what is the reasoning for this?" Is it so much more 'offensive' than some of the other shows/movies available?

I noticed the same thing and just waited to watch it on Showtime because I found it distracting and annoying.

Yeah I was bothered by the censoring of the L Word. Are instant movies censored????

They are not likely censored by Netflix but looks like they may be getting an edited stream handed down to the from the distributors.

That's too bad. Well, I will just watch them on Showtime then.

Some are and some aren't.

I'm not sure why either.

What?? The L word has sex scenes?? Shhheeeeeet Im going to rent it right now!! LOL

We saw this too, but it appears the episode was posted as a one-time promo... a heavily-edited freebie that's probably meant to lure viewers to rent/buy the full episodes. I highly doubt Netflix is condoning or performing censorship, but time will tell. (If they do decide to censor movies/shows, they'll be no better than Blockbuster and I'll take my money elsewhere.)

It's not just the L Word that they censor. You can't even email them, you have to give them a call to complain.

You would think they would appreciate a little customer feedback.

I think Netflix censored Hancock (sex scene missing). If that's the case, we will cancel our membership.

I saw it in the theaters, and I don't remember a sex scene at all. Who was it between? Theron and Bateman?

There are two versions of the DVD in distribution; the PG-13 version and the unrated version. She may be speaking of the PG-13 version which doesn't contain the sex scene. It has nothing to do with Netflix censoring it though.

If she's speaking of the Instant Watch version, then the version that STARZ is using may be the PG-13 version, but again, that has nothing to do with Netflix censoring.

I don't really understand the complaint on the language. It's not like we haven't heard those words before. With some people constantly using fuckng as an all-purpose adjective, the word seems to have lost any meaning. However, every nipple is unique and has it's own charm, so I can understand that complaint more. :)
