Permalink Reply by Kierkegaard on March 3, 2012 at 9:05am I really liked Best Seller in 1987

MY memories of Best Seller was that I had the feeling
that I had just sat through a Master Class on Acting By
James Woods and Brian Dennehy. These 2 guys give a Toure de force performance.
Videodrome (IMDb) Recently re-released in Criterion Blu Ray.
Permalink Reply by Netflowers on March 3, 2012 at 7:40pm I used to like to rent this movie when it came out on VHS. Back in the 80's when
they would charge you to be a member of a local video club, plus they would charge you
by the day. What I liked about "Videodrome' was the fact it was shot in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, you could feel the grittiness and rust and peeling paint of the back rooms of the locations used. I also liked seeing Deborah Harry, who was now making movies, I used to see her dance in a club called "The Wild West" behind the Empire State Building, on West 33rd St. (in the 70's). Videodrome is pre-internet, but yet it was exploring virtual reality and the dangers of getting to close to Videodrome. Glad to hear it has been re-released in High Definition, and BD.
I ordered it as soon as the guys told me about it. Amazing.

Also "Fast-Walking"('82) a guilty pleasure (na on NF) (caught on VHS in the '80's) 4 Stars
Permalink Reply by Carl on March 3, 2012 at 8:13pm You picked an actor that, for me, is hard to narrow down to one movie since I can name several that he was good in--"Once Upon a Time in America," "Ghosts of Mississippi," "Indictment The McMartin Trial," "Race to Space," "Dirty Pictures," as starters. To me he is a diversified actor--no matter what role he is given he is able to master it well.
