Netflix Movie Fans

Does anyone know when netflix will be changing up their anime? I've watched it all, and now I was just wondering how long I'd have to wait and what the titles of the anime are. So if anyone knows the names that be great

There has been very little dubbed anime the past few years - the Region One US Anime market collapsed faster than the rest of the world's markets did - and there's no sign of it returning anytime soon.  And NF was never very good at restoring their older stuff as it wore out.  Although recently Haibane-Renmei magically reappeared after years of being "unavailable".  So, I have no faith that even the market will return, let alone if NF will ever purchase any - for IW or disc.  But they did tend to only purchase anime that had been English dubbed.

Hi Karissa.

Unfortunately eviltimes is mostly correct. The North American anime industry is going through, lets call it shrinking pains. The early 2000's saw a huge anime boom in which many studio's started dubbing lots of anime. Unfortunately for people who enjoy English dubbed series, the fan fair has shifted, and I can't help but acknowledge that the igeneration an it's addiction to free fansubs certainly is part of this shift. Basically the most anime fans these days seem to get their media, 1. for free, and 2 subbed by other fans with a superiority complex. Unfortunately free is always more attractive than paying. Irregardless you do have many legal choices and the industry is slowly realizing that this word is a instant digital word. What does that mean?

Here is a list of places where you can watch anime streaming for free. Hope this was helpful.

Good call, Orion1

You know it's funny though, because I checked the series that Netflix does have and I was pretty impressed. Particularily with the fact that they have Monster completed. I didn't even realize that Viz had finished it. I havn't looked to see if it is subs only though or if it has a dub yet. Other titles was also impressed with include.

Mushishi, Macross Plus, Sky Crawlers, Grungrave, Moribito, Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro, FLCL, Dead Leaves, Last Exile, Full Metal Alchemist and it's remake Brotherhood, Elfen Lied, Trigun, Darker than Black, Ghost in the Shell S.A.C. I and II and the original movie, Gurren Lagann, Gun Slinger Girl, Baccano, Shigurui, Eden of the East, Spice and Wolf, Ouran High School Host Club, XxxHolic, Blood+, Casshern Sins, Ga-Rei Zero, Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo, Initial D, Phantom Requiem for the Phantom, Chobits, Blue Gender, and Rideback.

It appears to me that someone at Netflix knows their anime pretty well and is doing a decent job at getting some very good titles. I myself still need to finish Night Raid 1931 and Corpse Princess among a few others I didn't mention but it's not huge priority at this moment. I'm also still pushing through Naruto which is also conveniently on Netflix now. Maybe someday I'll actually make to Shippuden on Crunchy.

Yeah, with what must be a very small budget they manage to keep a respectable sampling available.  If I didn't already own most of it or had rented the rest more that once...

But when HR came back from "unknown" I was quite astonished.

You know, with the economy and disasters the Japanese "seed money" to get anything started must be in short supply.  Here's hoping our favorite artists get back to work in their tiny cubicles once again!

No worries I have faith. Every season a few great artists are still putting some interesting works out, and new animation houses like White Fox sprout up every once in a while adding some new flair to the industry. Hopefully fan service and moe/etchi minded fans won't be the last people purchasing anime, but unfortunately in Japan it certainly seems that way. Seinen and Josei titles have always been a hard sell with anime, but it seems that they are getting even harder with the state of industry.
