West Side Story. The Music Man. Oklahoma. My Fair Lady. Guys and Dolls. (Okay, I haven't seen Guys and Dolls. But I've heard the songs.)
I love Shirley Jones, but Carousel was so poorly realized. The accents were supposed to be Maine and they all ended up sounding like extras from Oklahoma.
What are your favorite hits and or misses and why?

Has anybody seen Sondheim's Company? The link is for the amazing 2007 revival. I've been a Sondheim nut for 20 years, but hadn't seen this one ... BRILLIANT!

The year is 1932, the film's in black and white, but Love Me Tonight starring Maurice Chevalier and Jeanette MacDonald is one of the great musicals of Hollywood. I venture to say nothing has ever matched its opening song of Isn't It Romantic. Order it and see if you don't agree.

I love Chevalier. Got it queued, thanks. We can talk about it after I've seen it.
