I LOVE planet Earth...after all, it's the only planet that I've ever lived on. While I consider myself environmentally sensitive, I know that there is a lot more that I can do to be even more pro-active. There are few topics that people get more emotional about than the environment. Just start talking about global warming and you'll know what I mean. As with any debate, lies and propaganda are par for the course when it comes to supporting your position. If all your information on global warming was gathered by watching An Inconvenient Truth, then you know only half the story...and half the truth. Take the time to do the research, look at the source data for what Gore based his conclusions on. After your research do you feel that you were misled? Manipulated? Lied to? I know I did...On the other hand, who cares that he misled us...anyone who want to save the environment HAS to be good...but what if there are ulterior motivations? What if global warming is part of a bigger plan? People who question the idea that global warming is man made have been labeled "ignorant" or "backwards"...but have these people actually done any research? Do these people actually know WHAT the argument IS in the first place?
What is the future of energy? Fossil fuels have been an obsolete form of energy for many many years now. Oil, coal, natural gas...these are limited resources...it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realise that eventually these resources will become scarce. Energy is a key element to economic growth, so what does that mean for our future...not just on our shores, but throughout the world. What if I could provide everyone on the planet with a "free energy" device. Could this technology possibly exist?...and what exactly does that mean? Nikola Tesla is an unsung hero in the world of physics...what if I told you that he had the mind of Einstein, and the technical know how of Edison? Yet, how many people have ever heard of him? How is it that a man so smart could have died penny-less and forgotten? In big business only the ruthless survive...could Tesla's goodwill have been his downfall?
Why is that cold fusion is never talked about? What exactly IS cold fusion? Was it "killed" or was it a hoax?
So what does all this mean? They always say follow the money trail...and the environment is no different. Trillions of dollars are needed to "fight" global warming...This sets up a "conflict of interest" situation...if you know that your livelihood and the livelihood of millions of other people rely on the fact that global warming is man made, then it's in your best interest to tow the company line and parrot whatever it is to keep the money flowing. If you are receiving millions of dollars in government grants to research hot fusion, then it's in your best interest to dismiss any research in cold fusion. Scientists are supposed to be objective...but they are also human...they know where the money is.
Obama suggested that we make sure our tires are properly inflated to conserve fuel...but let me suggest a way to REALLY conserve fuel. We all drive, and I certainly don't expect anyone to hop on a bike a pedal everywhere, so what can we do to improve fuel economy? Do a little experiment. Fill up your tank to the top, and reset your trip odometer to zero, drive like you normally do until your next fill up. When you fill up, take note of how many gallons you put it. Now you can take miles on your trip meter divide it by the number of gallons you put in your car and that's your miles per gallon. Now drive more conservatively...so what does that mean? Simply put, drive the speed limit...or closer to the speed limit...if you normally drive 75 on the highway, drive 65, if you drive a standard, spend as much time in your top gear as possible, if you are stuck in traffic, spend as much time in neutral as possible...less RPM's=Less fuel. Maybe try driving with classical music instead of trance music. Calculate your MPG and there is no doubt in my mind that your fuel economy will increase.
Here's a crazy idea...have you noticed that not all aluminum cans are redeemable for 5 cents? Only carbonated drinks are. How many plastic water bottles do you see in the trash? What would happen if ALL drink bottles had a 25 cent deposit? Can you imagine how many more people would take the time to make sure that they redeemed their bottles...it's one thing to throw a nickle away...but throwing a quarter away is crazy. BUT this will never happen...sad cause I know it would work
We recycle or burn plastic down here . Ft. Myers , Fl. We have this big ass incinerator that burns garbage for energy. Also Tommy Edison once kicked it here. He has a house and Lab right here . Yup the Wizzard of Menlow park . Right here in our sleepy little Hamlet. I have been saying the things you have since 1970. Remember Earth Day? Now we have Walli , my 20 yr old loved that movie but can he conserve any energy-----Nope! It takes a real fire in the belly to change spoiled Americans. Only hitting in the pocket book will do it. Where are all the tree huggers in the NING? As far as Cold Fusion I know all about it . It is the summation of my second marriage! So roust the sleeping giant tumjung!!! and save 25 cents for me Rev. You go boy!!!!
Blue Vinyl is a good one=on the dangers of PVC, which is everywhere as the film shows. This doc has a somewhat lighthearted feel together with hard facts and is easy to watch. You'll learn a lot but not get depressed or frustrated watching it.
I like how your second-to-last video reference was the Great Global Warming Swindle and how in your post you (properly) characterize An Inconvenient Truth as misleading, but everybody who has responded to you so far has been hitting the koolaid so hard that they've only seen what they wanted to see.
