I've called Netflix to BEG them to restore  the entire original series.  There's even a Facebook page asking this - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Netflix-Restore-Dark-Shadows-In-Its-E...

I'm watching the 90's redo now on Hulu ... just can't wrap my mind around anyone but Jonathan Frid as Barnabus.

You can watch it free on hulu.com or fancast. But I dont really have much interest in the remake. The original is the classic; Theres only One Barnabas. Some classics should just be left alone.

Haven't heard about the Johnny Depp version. Might be interesting. Check out the Ben Cross version. I thought it was much scarier than the Johnathan Frid versoin. It came out in 1990 and was only on for one season. Netflix has it available on DVD and Instant Streaming.....

It sure cant even begin to compare to the original...it doesnt have that magic at all.

i was a kid when the original Dark Shadows was aired. I thought Barnabus Collins was cool but he never was on the show enough. I remember watching this every afternoon, Monday through Friday. I eventually gave it up because day after day, the show seemed to be going nowhere....I remember there was one solid month that everytime i turned the show on, I heard, "DAVID?! DAVID!! WHERE ARE YOU!!??? DAVID!!!!".....this went on day after day....damn that kid really knew how to hide.....anyway, there was a remake of Dark Shadows that only lasted one season, I believe. It was on every friday night and it starred Ben Cross and Lysette Anthony..I thought it was fantastic....NF has it...if you haven't seen it, I'd strongly recommend it......

I've heard that the remake of Dark Shadows that was supposed to happen in 2009 is on the back burner. I have mixed feelings about that. I don't know if the new movie would have done the old show justice, but I also believe that it would have sparked new interest in the old show. Oh well. I'm still plugging along with the series, and am at Collection 5, disk 2 or 3 now. Really enjoying it!!!

Just wanted to tell ya'll that Cheryl left this on my page, so I think you might want to extend a personal invitation.

At 12:04am on September 8th, 2008, Cheryl Bailey said…
I used to watch Dark Shadow every afternoon after school. Did not know there was a group for it.

Since she was on my page. . . I think she was able to see the group icon (since I'm a member), but is new so may not know how to join.

Good clip of Angelique... Laura Parker's character was so important to the series. Great stuff! Thanks!

Saw this on You Tube... we've discussed Johnny Depp before, but I thought it would fuel some more fire.

I do, but not to a great extent... she was only on for one season in 1970. She was my favorite Angel though!

Here's a clip of Kate and Grayson Hall (loved this character and actor!)
