Funny that women find this movie good when it was about men for men.

Thanks for the comments. I have seen Fight Club many times, and it resonates every time I see it. I wish I could be as "who gives a shit" as Tyler.

Hey NYJake217 - Maybe it isn't one of the all time best, but if ya go back to watch it over and over again . . . what is it?

I still watch it . . . and the themes seem to still hold true. Isn't that the reason Shakespeare's stuff keeps getting produced, universality of theme and relevance?

I try and not give out 5 star ratings easily . . . 'cause if I were to give a 5 star rating to a movie like "Office Space" which I really think is funny, what do I give to the movies I think are timeless . . . like "Fight Club."

Greetings - I am now a member of the "Fight Club" group. One of my favorate movies, it reflects my substantial hostility to the social structure of our time.

I sometimes wonder how it reflects on me that I would rather be drying dear meat on the freeways that wondered through abandoned cities rather than driving on the freeways in traffic.

Do I identify with Tyler Durden? I don't think so. But I could follow him.

BTW, I use TDurden1937 as the use ID on most signin pages on the Internet. 'Course T as in Tyler. 1937 as in 1937 Paper Street . . . the address of the sewer of a house Rupert and Tyler move into. lol.

I am Jack's medulla oblongata. Without me, Jack could not regulate his heart rate or breathing.
I am Jack's smirking revenge.
I am Jack's wasted life.
I am Jack's broken heart.
I am Jack's medulla oblongata.
I am Jack's Colon. I Get Cancer. I Kill Jack.
I am Jack's inflamed sense of rejection
I am Jack's raging bile duct
I am Jack's broken heart
I am Jack's complete lack of surprise

Has anyone seen CHOKE? Based on a book by the author of Fight Club, stars Sam Rockwell, got mixed reviews. What did you think of it?

I will probably see it next Wednesday...

Saw the movie, loved it, bought the DVD, loved it more, bought the book and read it, loved it too. So got more Palahuniak books and read them -- hmpf, stick to Fight Club. Nothing matched it.

Great movie. the catalog of his acquisitiveness, the silly fat collecting, Meathead with bazooms.... I have long been a big fan of Ed Norton.

I know I'm here way late for this discussion, but it seems not to be closed! So I'm sticking my toe in.

I wrote an essay on the Fight Club in my book Discovering World Religions at 24 Frames per Second, in which I talk about how Zen Buddhism and Daoism can be used to understand the film. I would reprint it here, but it's too bloody long. There are a lot of Buddhist ideas in the film, though. And the anarchy part - yeah, pretty Daoist. I love the film, and after I wrote the essay, loved it even more.

Hey everyone! Just joined the group. Fight Club is one of my favorites. Every time I watch it I discover some new clue to the ending that I hadn't noticed before, but that, if I had noticed it at the time, I would have figured out what was going on way before the end of the movie.
