Comment by Ando on April 14, 2013 at 1:12pm Finally, a fine streaming version of Fritz Lang's Scarlet Street (1945). YT versions all suck. Even the Netflix streamer is C grade. Drop it while it's hot.
Comment by Ando on March 5, 2013 at 11:36am Thanks, Prof. I've never really enjoyed The Third Man (can barely sit through its baroque abstractions) and have long felt it to be inferior to Odd Man Out, a masterpiece, in my eyes. Could be (as Clute & Edwards allude to in the podcast) my conditioned American sensibility.
Comment by The Professor on March 5, 2013 at 10:57am That seems to be a question for the ages. I say no though. I don't know if you've ever seen Clute and Edwards Out of the Past podcast, but it is pretty great. Here's a link to the podcast for The Third Man:

You can also get the podcast on iTunes. Great stuff.
Comment by Ando on March 2, 2013 at 11:19pm How bout The Third Man (1949)? Can I call it noir? imdb does, though this Carol Reed classic really transcends the categorization...
