Noises Off is a comedy that breaks one of my movie rules. The rule states that if more than 1 movie star is in a movie, and I haven't heard of it, then it's a bad movie. Noises Off stars Michael Caine, Carol Burnett, Julie Hagerty, Marilu Henner, Christopher Reeve, John Ritter, Mark Linn-Baker, and Nicolette Sheridan. It's based on a play, and is about a play so most of the shots are of the stage. Rolling on the floor funny in the genre of a fast-talking comedy.

I don't think you quoted your rule correctly..you said the movie must have at least 3 stars..this one has 3.6 stars so it doesn't break your rule!

It doesn't break by 3-stars rule for this group. I have a personal rule that if a movie has "big names" but I haven't heard of it, then it's a bad movie. This rule works for me most of the time, but Noises Off has a lot of big names and I'd never heard of it until I took a chance and rented it years ago. I was rolling on the floor laughing. So it just breaks my rule for selecting good movies.

I actually liked this movie a lot too. It was making the rounds on HBO for at least a couple years.

Screwball comedies like this, "What's Up, Doc?" or "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World" are often forgotten about.

Good choice.
