NETFLIX - this is clearly one of the great movies of all time, now particularly relevant given the recent resurge in U.S. diplomatic relations with Latin America. Making this DVD available through Netflix, helping to put Latin America's past in historical context, would be a service to U.S. citizens. Can this DVD be acquired by Netflix?

Comment by Just Gus on January 11, 2009 at 3:59am: Opinionated-Gal knows of what she speaks. There's a Lou Reed song in Get Crazy, that's one of his best. I have fond memories of the movie, but I've had troubles finding a copy to watch.

I'd add Swann in Love and Paris, Texas as 80's movies that linger in my memory as unsung minor classics. I just hope that when I catch them again I'm not disappointed and betrayed by my memories.

Comment by Opinionated-Gal on October 25, 2008 at 9:42pm: Two right off the top of my head: Pixote and Get Crazy. The reason nobody knows about them is that they're not on DVD!!! Pixote is by Hector Babenco, and it's crazy-tragic, very engaging and memorable (I saw it in 1981 and I'm still haunted by it). Get Crazy is about an attempted reunion of bands from several decades celebrating a 25th anniversary New Year's Eve of a venue like the Fillmore. It's hysterically funny and so much fun!

All are cult classics from the late30's to late 40's. Al l are in black and white. I have them in my collection . I consider them 3 stars or better. Road to ruin is about young girls making wrong choices and hanging with the wrong crowd.Delinquent daughters: A high school girl commits suicide the cops investigate the details. Omoo- Omoo the shark God: A sea captain removes sacred pearls from an island shrine. This unleashes a curse upon anyone who encounters them.
