Android phones - Netflix app

Hello everyone! It has been a while since I last popped in here. How are you all doing?I'm currently on the HTC EVO 3D, and I'm noticing that the download of the front app takes precedence over the actual playing of a title. This, for me, is slowing down playback. Are you using the app on your phone and experiencing this issue too? Also, why do we need all those pictures necessary to be downloaded each time loading up the app?I brought this issue to a Netflix rep and he agreed with me that it is…Continue

Slow and choppy playback with Sony BDP-S570 Blu-ray 149 Replies

Recently purchased a recently released wifi capable Sony BDP-S570 Blu-ray player, which has wifi and Netflix. I thought this would make our Roku redundant. But so far, Netflix playback is terrible. I have the latest firmware and my network and internet connections are very fast. And playback on the Roku always was and still is nearly flawless. The Sony will buffer and load endlessly and I'll switch to the same movie on the Roku and it will play fine. They are sitting right next to one…Continue

Sony BDP-470 wired connection, Constantly a problem anyone else? 2 Replies

Hello new to the forums, wondering if anyone else on a Sony device has had similar problems.  I bought a Sony BDP-470 in 2010 which seems to always have streaming issues. Some times it's decent other times beyond frustrating to watch anything. After numerous calls and frustration some time last year, I was told there was an issue with the Sony back end server as this device goes to Sony first then Netflix.Starting a couple weeks ago, no mater what I stream it stops usually about 15 - 20 minutes…Continue

Netflix Canada on Samsung BD-5500C 5 Replies

Hi Move Fans, this is my first post here.I've been watching Netflix.ca for about 19 months now on my Samsung Blu-Ray player. The quality and reliability has been really great. Content a bit lacking in Canada compared to U.S. of course, but there's enough to keep up interest, and if necessary I can always connect the laptop instead and watch Netflix.com if there's anything I really want to see from the U.S. site. But a few of the quirks in the Netflix client on the Samsung Blu-Ray player have…Continue

autoFlix screen resolutions and screenshots. 55 Replies

For those of you that don't know, autoFlix is an app that when installed, will autoPlay the next episode in a series when an episode finishes. I've been hard at work making autoFlix compatible with all computers and resolutions. Since I have a limited amount of machines to test on, I'd like to start a thread where users can post if autoFlix isn't working, then upload a screenshot of their Netflix screen(with the "Play next episode" button showing) with their resolution. You can also post if it…Continue

Solution to Silverlight Error Code 8352 (80% Probibilty) 9 Replies

This may solve the Error Code 8352 and maybe other BLACK SCREEN problems. In my first blog I was still stumbling in the dark. Now at least I’m feeling my way around. It appears that the problem starts with an interruption stream of the movie that isn’t being cleared on the Netflix end. You are allowed six DEVICES to view movies on. If whatever it is that clears the stream doesn’t work right a new device is started. It could just be another instance of the same PC or other device. At any rate,…Continue

I'm trying out an experiment; there are quite a few questions that have not been answered or dealt with, and am trying to get to these. Some are more than a year old and others from early 2010. For more information please take a look at this thread.

Here's a list of titles that have the option to turn on/off subtitles.

Posted here too.

Here's a great script to make watching Netflix streaming titles even more enjoyable!--autoFlix by Jason Stallings. Download the script and run it when you're ready to watch more than one episode of a series; the script will automatically click "Next Episode" for you. Just make sure that the Netflix movie screen is in FULL SCREEN for it to work effectively.

Have any features that you would like to see added to this? Have any questions or issues (found a bug) with it? Post them all here.

Enjoy!

It's always a good idea to call Netflix Customer Service for issues with your system, as they have the personnel to deal with all the different systems. If they cannot help you, they can then advice accordingly on what to do next.

Of course, posting here, the issues involved, that you called NF Customer service and the steps necessary to do, will help the next person to know what to do too when they have the same issue as you.

This is from a post on Hacking Netflix:
Some users are reporting problems with Netflix streaming on the PS3, and NetflixHelps on Twitter is telling customers to make sure that 720p is selected in the PS3 settings. The menus on the PS3 can be confusing, so here are detailed instructions on how to make sure that 720p is set on the PS3:

1. Select "Settings."
2. Select "Display Settings."
3. Select "Video Output Settings."
4. Confirm your connection type.
5. Select "Custom" setting method.
6. Make sure that 720p is selected.

The resolution setting screen looks like this:

I am always quick to recommend @netflixhelps. Twitter may seem useless to uninformed people, but it's the greatest app on my computer. I can keep in contact with people just as easy as email, and for once, I get responses.

Netflix Helps is always quick to do just that. I applaud the guys who run that Twitter, because they probably have to respond to a lot of angry people in a days time. It's hard to always come across as polite within only 140 characters though.
