Hey just thought I'd start a thread where we could showcase folks that aren't high ranked, but are exceptional review writers.

I agree that Alex DeLarge writes some very good reviews, and his War Films Group is how I was introduced to one of my favorite reviewers, GODFORGE.
He hasn't posted any reviews on the Netflix site, but some of his best efforts can be found if you just scroll down on this page of comments from the War Films group.
I second Yipyop. As for people not necessarily on Ning and not in the top 25 (just going through my faves), I'd also add Flak Magnet, Ironduke, *bug*, HK Fanatic, Raskolnik and Martini. I'm sure I'm forgetting people but that's all I feel like scavenging links for at the moment.
I like Junta Juleil

Another guy who hasn't been mentioned is scissor shock
Scissorshock definitely. We seem to review a lot of the same movies. I probably would have listed him/her had I not gotten lazy about getting links. ;)
scissorshock is occasionally good, but has an extreme propensity to overuse the "eh" and the "meh" and the "awesome." Which leads me to find him... "meh."

I do enjoy Junta Juleil.
Heh!

I don't like the fact that now Netflix only lets you read the top 3 reviews, which normally are from people who get to preview the movie first and may, or may not, have a built-in interest while writing the review. I used to like to read a bunch of them, not only the top ones. Not restricting the number allows for more diversity and freedom of opinion. What would inspire you to write a review if the top 3 are already there and only your friends will get to read yours?

Also, why doesn't Netflix have a suggestion box? There is no way to send them e-mails. I actually called Netflix and suggested that they should move the friend link to the top, as one more tab like it used to be, and they told me that they "ARE A MOVIE RENTAL COMPANY, not a Social Media site interested in creating a community" Seems to me defeating, because the more excited I am about their site and their movies, the more friends I am going to tell.
They said that? That's interesting. We've been speculating along those very lines for a while, but this is the first time we hear it from Netflix CS. It is a bit contradictory, though, because the friends section is in fact a small social network, and it could be a great little network if they would bother to maintain it. But it seems they prefer to "push" that sort of thing off to Facebook (blech!).
Wow!! Someone actually is telling you the truth for a change at NF?? The people I have talked to that have spoken with them say they keep saying everything is just temporary and soon it will all be back up to running like it was. That makes me think only a handful of upper eschalon really know what is going on.
