Bigger news - Anthony Cooper is back in this one - so must have something to do with Locke's sideways life?

Plus a role of "sub captain" is on the list - does Sawyer & company make it there?

 

Although in the trailer for this ep (Last night) it said about MIB: "soul gone mad, living out there in the wilderness" --- are they going to make it so that he's "just" a man? Or did something "mystical" happen to him to make him Smokey? Where the hell are they going with this????

Although other names (Littleton and Goodspeed) appear to be visible on the cave wall, it seems they've all been crossed out with the exception of the six people above who correspond to Hurley's numbers (4,8, 15, 16, 23, 42). So one would assume these six are the only remaining viable "candidates." Therefore, question: If Claire and Sayid are both "infected," why is he on the list and she's not? And now that Fake Locke told us the candidates can become "the new Jacob," it certainly seems more plausible that Sayid became just that when he was brought back to life via the Temple water.

Ok, this was officially one of the best/saddest episodes yet! Even though I was sure they were going to die, why did they have to kill three people I LOVED all in one night!?!?!? That is too much for a person to handle/go through!

Alright, so back to normal. It was very good!

1. The music box thing, Rouseau, yes, I agree. That is the only thing I can think that the two would have in common. I did notice the mirror too though. They seemed to focus on that for a bit...maybe I am just seeing things though, who knows.

2. This is random, but where is Ben again...having a brain freeze here.

3. Why did Sayid tell Jack to go get Desmond? How does he know he can help and how can he help them? I know he is doing the help in the sideways life, but what does he know about their current life that can help?

4. I think that MIB knows that they did not all die due to the fact that he did not change to the creepy looking guy that talks to Jacob. I think once everyone is killed, then he will change back to his original body, and I have a feeling then rule the island. After tonight, I am not 100% convinced that he actually wants to leave, but really just wants to control the island.

5. Ok, so we know that MIB cannot kill the chosen and it appears as though other individuals such as Widmore cannot kill them either. If Widmore was able to kill them, then that means that MIB probably would have let them all get on the jet and blow up. But, MIB knew that the it would not blow, and thus his problem would still exist. However it does appear that they can kill each other. So, how is it that they can kill one another as equals but Ben and Widmore couldn't as equals? I know that Ben and Widmore are different than the chosen, but still, what is the real difference?

6. Now that Sun and Jin have been killed off, will their last name be crossed off, or is it their daughter that was the real chosen one? What about Aaron? How does he fit in to all of this?

OK Evil Herbivore and Devin.....upon first watch, I found this to be one of my Least favorite episodes in the whole series...but reviewing your questions/reflections, I bow to your superior knowledge of all things LOST, and will reserve further comment until I get the chance to watch it again (except for this...the Jin/Sun demise was a bit too Titanic Jack/Rose for me)...

But the sideways stuff was interesting, and yes Devin, I'm stumped trying to remember where Ben is....did he stay with Locke and thus become one of the ones Sayid said ran off into the jungle during the mortar barrage? I think....? Yeah, that's my best guess.

Ben is w/ Richard & Miles - interesting how they'll fit this in.
Yah, mothbackgeorge- it was bit Titanic in some ways - but w/ much more meaning & feeling for me than that.
Because I had to keep reminding myself that although we the audience knew sun & jin were alive, most of the last two seasons they thought that each other were dead. (sniff)

So even though they keep saying Kate isn't a candidate, I think she's still in play. Maybe she's the variable that notLocke is not accounting for?

Good catch Spiderpig on the four of them being the same from season two. I didn't even notice that!

I am really curious about Christian. I know MIB said that he was playing him on the island etc. but he still seems to have some sort of a special tie to the island. Like you said, Spiderpig, the song being played and giving the music box with it to Claire. So obviously he has some sort of a special connection.

nice call spiderpig - since those are the four left. but we don't know why kate was crossed off. is it b/c she didn't really "change" or change in sideways world? or is it a ruse like you said? or is desmond a candidate?
watched it again today - then i heard the "catch a falling star" part -nice tie in . I was just thinking how claire went all rousseau & rousseau had the music box that she wanted sayid to repair.

and knowing LOST, I'm not sure that Lapidus is dead...
