Season 6 airs 2/2/10 - here is some info I found: SPOILERS - ALBEIT NOT HUGE ONES - LIE AHEAD!

3. "Man in black" (aka Jacob's enemy) will see a lot of screentime this season

7. a list is found where the "numbers" are attached to the Losties - i.e. each person is a number

8. More insight into Locke & Rose's connection

* The final season of Lost will be running for 18 episodes, as opposed to the originally planned 17. * We will get the answers to the mysteries of The Smoke Monster, and also to the Tawaret statue. Further mysteries, we're promised, are also set to be resolved. This is good. * We're also promised the end of the flashbacks. Apparently, once the season gets to around a third of the way in, its timelines will come together, and then the focus will be on ongoing narrative, rather than jumping backwards and forwards. That's something of a culture change for Lost right there, and it does mean that the back end of the season will be an ongoing drive to the finish line. * Episode titles thus far that we know are L.A.X. for episodes one and two, What Kate Does for the third and The Substitute for the fourth. Then there's Lighthouse, Sundown, Dr Linus (looking forward to this one already!), and Rundown. That takes us up to episode eight so far. * Among the brand new characters is Lennon, who is billed as the spokesperson and translator for a big foreign company. Could he be something to do with Charles Widmore, we wonder? Whatever, he's being played by John Hawkes of Deadwood fame. We need to write lots about Deadwood on this site soon. * Elizabeth Mitchell will be returning as Juliet. She'll only be in a couple of episodes, not least because Mitchell is now committed to ABC's V. * Maggie Grace is also reported to be potentially returning as Shannon, although there's speculation either way on this. * Emilie de Ravin is back for season six as Claire - the fate of her character, and where she's been for season five, is one of the things we're very keen to see resolved. It'll apparently be a different kind of Claire that we see too, with Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello calling it a "a Rousseau-esque version". She'll be back full time, too. * Ausiello also confirms that Rousseau herself won't be returning, as actress Mira Furlan turned down the chance to return due to scheduling difficulties. * Cynthia Watros has reportedly turned down the chance to return, to wrap up the story of Libby. Rebecca Mader as Charlotte has, however, taken up the offer, and will be back at some point in season six. * Don't rule out a return appearance of Dominic Monaghan, and Jeremy Davies as Daniel Faraday is also set to turn up again. * William Atherton has signed up to appear in season 6. We still love Atherton from the first two Die Hard movies, and in Lost, he's set to play a character called Principal Reynolds. * Regular 24 director Jon Cassar is reported to be directing an episode of the show, as is Mario Van Peebles. * Sawyer will be heading a bit more back to basics in the aftermath of Juliet's death, which he's apparently taken very badly indeed.

Yeah, I am really getting excited about this upcoming season. I have heard that most everyone will die though...if that is true, I want to know who?!?!?!

But seriously, they were all supposed to die originally and fate is a "B" in order to restore balance in the universe, they all (or most all) will have to die, because they would have died the first time around.

Well the MIB is Flocke (Fake Locke)... Both Charlie and Desmond were on the plane, but I think Jack was seeing things and Desmond wasn't really there (Cause he went poof and didn't get off the plane.)

I think Claire bumps into Juliet (remember Juliet is a baby doctor) and because she and Kate hook up in the cab (and I think Sawyer takes an interest in Kate and follows their cab for shits and giggles) that will be how Sawyer meets Juliet in the alternate universe/timeline.

Don't forget the Typo LA X... I think it supports the alternate universe/timeline thing.

I think that Jacob throws a serious monkey wrench into our confusion and comes back as Juliet on the island, which would confuse Flocke..

As far as everyone else who appeared after they died? (Christian, Claire, etc...) They are/were MIB taking their form to manipulate events so that some got off the island, so that Locke did what he did (and got killed), so that Ben would make sure they all came back (including Ben) so that Flocke could step in, convince Ben to kill Jacob, and so that Flocke can take over the temple so he can "Go Home".

Jack wasn't seeing things. The explosion caused different realities to happen:
1: Losties on the airplaneand didn't crash on the island and the LAX scene. Desmond was supposed to go to the island on the sailboat. Since the other Losties didn't either, neither did Desmond. The island is not there anymore, out of the picture, so Desmond was on the plane and along with the other Losties with Jack.
2: There was a quick scene of the island underwater. That could have been result of the nuclear explosion
3: The losties on the island after the explosion, Jacob is dead and Sayid lives.

We see now that the fake Locke is the smoke monster. We see how he meets up with Richards, says "I see you are out of your chains now". He then pummels him to unconciousness and drags him away, probably back to the temple. With Jacob and the real Locke dead, Richard would be the next in line as the leader. The smoke monster aka MIB didn't want that. I think that the MIB and the smoke monster are the same. Remember, that Jacob cannot be directly killed by MIB, so fake Lock aka smokie aka MIB did it. MIB cannot do it in his own person. He uses the smoke monster. The smoke monster only manifests the dead people from the island. The smoke monster is a prisoner on the island. Jacob was probably keeping him there.

Well I suspect that Jack was indeed "imagining" Desmond, just as he was "Seeing" the blood on his neck when he went into the bathroom on the plane. Jack has some sort of connection (or perhaps is the portal itself) between the two realities.

And yeppers, Smokie is the MIB, is Flocke... If you think back to when Jacob was sitting on the island talking to the other guy? The one with the black hair and beard? Those two were both destined to live on the island together for eternity pondering the foibles of man.

The only way that one could leave the island is if the other one died. But... They could not kill each other directly.

So Jacob established the "Others" to protect the island from outside influences "At any Cost", these people came from all different times, and lived in/around the Temple. MIB (Smokie) directly supported chaos and used his influence to manipulate others so that he could find a way to kill Jacob. Flash Forward... Enter Locke... And a whole cast of players to start a new game of Chess.

Now think back to something that Ben asked of Flocke... He asked "Why" Jacob didn't try to defend himself, "Why" he just stood there and let Ben kill him. Add in a little Jedi Warrior Mythology... And Jacob is not dead, he simply allowed Flocke to "think" he is dead, and is in search of a new host. He "knew" Sayid would be there, knew he would be mortally wounded, knew who would be in the group, knew to send Hurley the Guitar Case with the Ankh in it with the hidden message...

You think if he could foresee all that... that he didn't know about his own pending death? Its all a part of the plan.

Also... Here's a good question I seldom see asked. If Jacob and MIB could not leave the island (unless the other was dead) then exactly "how" did Jacob travel off the island to visit everyone like he did? I suspect that Jacob had somehow managed to kill (or seriously wound) MIB (perhaps that is who Richard is) and MIB has been regaining his strength (which supports Jacob coming back.)

Good question. I think perhaps Christian has something to do witht he reason Jacob could travel off the island. Perhaps because when the magnetic anomoly happened, Jacob found a dead body to inhabit that was already dead, from outside the island. That could let him go anywhere he wanted to. Or, perhaps Ben allowed him to. He seemed to have some control over the smoke monster. Perhaps the magnetic release of Desmond not being able to press the button allowed the temporary release of Smokie.
