A Netflix Community

Hello, new to the group but I love movie quotes. Thought I'd try to get a discussion going about your absolute favorite movie quote.

So what is your Favorite quote?

Or maybe what is a quote you say all the time?

Right now because of my obsession with the show Deadwood is:

"Swergen!" - Mr. Wu
or
"Get the Fuck out Wu." - Al

Yeah yeah I know it's not a movie, but they are supposed to be making a 2 hour movie for HBO soon, so I guess it still counts :P

OK I have two from one of my favorite movies. The first my sons and I use all of the time when we see old cars or just funky cars we make up our own "indian names" for them.
The movie is Dreamkeeper. The set-up is that Grandpa wants his grandson Shane to drive him to the All Nations Pow Wow in New Mexico from Pine Ridge, South Dakota.
"I'll give you my 1966 pony, it's name is Many Miles With No Muffler."
He's giving Shane his 1966 beater truck for driving him.
Same movie, Dreamkeeper. Set-up is Grandpa and Shane are being chased down the highway by the resident rez gang.
Grandpa: "They want my war pony Three Moons"
Shane: "No Grandpa they want my ass."
Grandpa: "There better off with my pony."

I love that Warriors quote! Every time I am picking up empty bottles I can't resist putting them on my fingers and saying that quote.

Great topic, Jenn. It used to be, "I'm tired of what's right and wrong." Jessica Lange to Jack Nicholson in their The Postman Always rings Twice.

Now, it's, "Damaged people are dangerous. Because they know they can survive." Juliette Binoche to Jeremy Irons in Louis Malle's Damage.

Actually I have two. The first is Bruce Lee in Chinese Connection;

"Why did you kill my teacher? Why? Why? Why? Why?"

The second is dialogue between Ming the Merciless and his lieutnenant Klytus at the beginning of the 80's version of Flash Gordon;
Ming: Klytus I'm boooored. What plaything can you offer today?
Klytus: (in a snotty English butler accent) An obscure body in the S K system your majesty. The inhabitants refer to it as the planet, earrrrth.
Ming: How peaceful it looks... (Activates his ring and you see a building on earth crumble to the ground from an earthquake of his own creation)
Klytus: Most effective your majesty! Shall you destroy this, earrth?
Ming: Later. I like to play with things awhile.... before annihilation! (cue Queen and the Flash Gordon theme. Flash! Ahhhhhh! King of the impossible!

Hey, did you know that The Orb (Little Fluffy Clouds) uses your favorite quote between Ming and Klytus on one of their songs, they sample the spoken dialog. It's pretty cool

Wheee, just found this group and joined, looks like fun!

Lots of fav quotes, but first one that pops to my mind:

"I once thought I had mono for an entire year...turns out I was just bored."--Wayne Campbell

Here is one of my all time fav quotes--true it is not very original but still one of my favs--from A Few Good Men:

You can't handle the truth! Son, we live in a world that has walls. And those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives...You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall.
We use words like honor, code, loyalty...we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. You use 'em as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it! I'd rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to!

one of the best monologues in film, and what made me respect jack nicholson as an actor.

and it must be followed with the graceful and full of composure:

"i'm gonna rip the eyes out of your head, and puke in your dead skull! you fucked with the wrong marine!" col. jessup, a few good men
