Movies You Didn't Like But Everyone Else Did

Ever see a movie you didn't "get" but everyone else seemed to think it was one of the greatest movies ever made? The purpose of this group isn't to thrash movies or other people's tastes, but to point out how different our tastes can be at times.

Titanic - ok but seemed like a teen movie to me.
Under the Volcano - got tired of watching a drunk guy.

#1 on that list for me was "A Simple Plan". We went with a three or four other couples and when we came out of the theater, we all said, "We would have got up and walked out, but we didn't want to leave the group." Most depressing film I ever sat through. Close runner up is a tie for "40-Year Old Virgin" and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall". The unfunniest comedies ever devised. Add anything made by Woody Allen since "What's Up Tiger Lilly?" Pretentious whiny dialog that just grates.

Note to Ly: Easy Rider made more sense back when it first came out. I'm not sure I could watch it now, but thought it was the BOMB back in 1969. Mostly because I wanted to be one of them right up until the ending.

The most recent..

Tropic Thunder

Horrible!! I try reading the 4 & 5 star reviews and can't understand what they are talking about! Everyone keeps talking about it being a 'comedy' and all the 'humor' in it..I don't remember laughing once..I actually got pissed ..and embarrassed that I had someone else watching this BORING movie with me. I'm someone that laughs at anything..even if no one else is laughing..so I'm not really understanding the reviews for this movie.
