It's been my experience that often times unlike a book & it's cover you CAN judge a film by it's trailers. A less than average movie tends to advertise like films and a blockbuster type film wouldn't dare cross paths with a quirky independent number no matter how good it might be up against it's own genre.

Does anyone else tend to judge the expected quality of a film based on the previews (on the same disk) you've seen preceding it?

a trailer that just blew me away in a theatre, was the trailer for L.I.E. (long island expressway). based solely on the trailer and not knowing anything else regarding the film - i saw the film as soon as it was released based on the powerful images and old Donovan song, "hurdy gurdy man". a very effective and intriguing trailer.
