Guide to the Essential Doctor Who 2 Replies

I know a bunch of people have some interest in watching some of the original Doctor Who, but they just don't want to rent and watch about 200 dvds. It can be pretty overwhelming. So, I thought I would make this guide to what I consider the essential…Continue

K-9 Marathon on Christmas 1 Reply

Anyone curious about K-9 can record the entire series on Christmas on Syfy.Warning: The show is aimed at young children.  The bad guys are always very slow and/or very stupid.  I found it rather painful to watch the entire series.Continue

Is it my imagination or has Netflix gotten less efficient with DVD release of Who? 3 Replies

Seems like when they had a new release in stores it usually coincided with Netflix getting the latest Who release here in the States.Well, not only that, but they don't send what's atop my queue, and seem to send what they want.  All this since the…Continue

DVD release schedule 30 Replies

Every complete serial is expected to be released by the 50th anniversary in 2013.  Sadly, that will leave some orphaned episodes from the first two doctors unpublished.  They continue to fill in some of the holes with animated versions matched with…Continue

I think you're right Cat Lady, doing that would be like being marooned in a black hole with Omega. Sorry Baff, if you keep up the good work of keeping us informed of new Who, I'm sure I'll catch it in time to get that first disc.

Actually, queuing the current entry of season 5 will do you no good. Netflix has not entered them as individual discs yet. If you queue the current "season 5" it will sit in your save bin forever. Been there, done that.

The 1st season of the 11th doctor has finished airing. You can queue them now for November 9th.

Still sour on Tennant's run with Davies as producer. But I see there's a new doctor coming and a new producer to boot. Hopefully I can go back to being a fan... I'll never tire of Who, at least pre Eccleston, and have been a fan since '87 when PBS started running the show on Saturday afternoons.

I've been an avid fan of the regenerated series, and I was an occasional late-night PBS watcher of the 4th Doctor in the early 1980s. I just started the DVD of An Unearthly Child, the first episode from 1963. I'm afraid I'm hooked. Wish me luck.
