Just got the following recommendation from a critic friend of mine. He says The Battle For Haditha is an excellent film. It's just now in theaters, so check it out if you can. It's an independent film so may be hard to find in your area. If not, you can add it to your queue now. I'm a little leery of these Iraq war films lately, but he's usually right on with his recommendations.

Thanks! I read an good review in FILM COMMENT a few months ago and queued. I just hope it's better than Depalma's REDACTED: I wrote a scathing review of his celluloid catastrophe!
Nice find, Spindaddy. Saved it.
Recently watched a doc about the survivors of Nagasaki and Hiroshima called White Light, Black Rain. I recommend if you haven't seen it. Lots of interviews with survivors and bunch of disturbing vintage footage too.
That documentary made me cry like a girl.
That documentary made me cry like a girl.
That statement confuses me.
Because I am a girl or the crying part? Documentaries like that make me sad. Same with Ken Burns' The War.
It was just funny that you said "cry like a girl" and you are a girl. Was a great response. :)
Gotcha. I say that in all seriousness though. It takes a really big emotional impact to make me cry unlike most womenfolk.
If you want to see a movie that truely shows wars inanity see NO MAN'S LAND
I just watched that a week or two ago. You're talking about the Serbian film, right?
yes
Good film! It's been a few years since I've seen it; excellent recommendation Allan.
