Sounds like fun. Perhaps in May? I'm moving and my isp situation will be 69'd for a while. Good idea, though.

We did have a tv western thread...it didn't develop much.  I loved Have Gun Will Travel and Gunsmoke.  Lonesome Dove is technically a tv mini-series....and a classic.....Clint Eastwood and Steve McQueen were both in tv series.

Just Gus, I wondered if you ever had a thread for television westerns?  I wondered what would rank towards the top.  It's too bad that they have fallen out of favor, but a few retro TV channels have brought some of them back to life.  Lately, I've been watching Tales of Wells Fargo.  I think the early Gunsmoke was also classic TV.  I might also vote for Have Gun Will Travel.

Ando--A few years back we had something we called the March Madness Tournaments--westerns competed against westerns in 4 brackets with people showing support for films by posting clips, still, comments and quotes.  It was fun....it was followed by reviews of our --the groups members' favorite westerns.

Viggo's and Ed Harris' western was cool...I remember Sev mostly panning the Renee Zellweger parts of the movie!

While reading Richard Wright's The Looming Tower about the 9/11 attack and the roots of radical Islamist movements, I learned that as a kid Osama Bin Laden was a big fan of westerns!  I guess there might be some hope in turning him around....probably not though.
